God bless but I'm jealous. I was a homeless, heavy metal paganized God cursing vagabond cradle Protestant that prayed to Mary out of desperation because I hated God Himself and thinking Catholicism was pagan, and I committed blasphemy, I dabbled in Catholicism anyways because of the peace but back in my youth, I prayed to protestant Ned Flanders Jesus unto self lobotomy for a wife and the paths of life and never got it and thank God things look better now but I wouldn't have ever thought fondly of God again without Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy . Thank You king Jesus for blessing us ✝️🛐

Roman Catholic theology is not presented in the Word of God. The young men who were exposed to the teaching, would have been using Roman Catholic material with a bit of Scripture thrown in to sound Scriptural. The Roman Catholic church has its own doctrines, dogmas and traditions and and it worships the Rcc Mary that is not the biblical Mary. In case you are in any doubt, compare what the Catechism says about the Rcc Mary and the biblical Mary in the NT. They are not the same and neither is the insufficient Jesus of the Rcc. Jesus saves to the uttermost and all saved believers in Christ have assurance of salvation. The Roman Catholic Jesus requires his mother to get to Jesus instead of salvation residing in Jesus Christ alone. Acts 4:12 states that there is no other name given under heaven through whom we might be saved. The Rcc teaches that salvation is only possible through the Rcc. The Rcc requires works, merit, baptism, salvation as a process and obeying the teachings of the Rcc to be saved. Scripture teaches that salvation is ;by the grace of God, through faith, the gift of God and this not of yourselves by works so that no-one can boast.' Ephesians 2:8,9

@ Are you sure that asking intercession is not in scripture? First thing I would point out is that PRAYER to Saints and their INTERCESSION for us is Biblical. You can find it in the book of 2 Maccabees. Unfortunately since Protestants removed this book from the Bible, you will notice that it is not in Protestant Bibles. No worries, prayer to the Saints finds its Biblical basis in a number of reasonings 1. We are the Body of Christ and asking one another for intercession is part of the Christian Life as Saint Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2. Death does NOT cut us off from the body of Christ, we LIVE EVEN MORE SO in Christ in the glory of Heaven 3. There is no concept of time in heaven, so hearing prayers is not only an act of God 4. The Bible tells us that Saints RECEIVE prayers and present them to Christ 5. The Bible tells us Saints are aware of what is happening First step is to show that Saints in heaven RECEIVE prayers. In Revelation 5 we have imagery of Presbyters in heaven receiving prayers of Saints(on earth) The Saints on earth are praying and the prayers are received by the Holy Ones in Heaven. The holy ones then take the prayers to the Lamb and present them as burnt incense. This is intercession. Revelation 5 8 When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Remember that "prayers of the saints" are prayers from the SAINTS ON EARTH. The Saints on EARTH have their prayers received by the 24 Elders (glorified Saints in heaven) In Revelation 19 Heaven is aware of the Destruction of Babylon This is quite significant because it shows that SAINTS in heaven are AWARE of what occurs on earth: After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power to our God, 2 for his judgments are true and just; he has judged the great whore who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants So we have 1. Saintly intercession 2. Heavenly Saints aware of what is going on here on earth To supplement this, if Catholicism is true we would expect to find ancient testimonies from the first Christians supporting us. And we can: Clement of Alexandria in the 100s says “In this way is he [the true Christian] always pure for prayer. He also prays in the society of angels, as being already of angelic rank, and he is never out of their holy keeping; and though he pray alone, he has the choir of the saints standing with him [in prayer]” (Miscellanies 7:12 [A.D. 195] Origen of Egypt in the 200s says: “But not the high priest [Christ] alone prays for those who pray sincerely, but also the angels . . . as also the souls of the saints who have already fallen asleep” (Prayer 11 [A.D. 233]) In the 300s the STANDARD Catechism of CYRIL OF JERUSALEM that taught NEW BELIEVERS into the Christian faith reads: "Then [during the Eucharistic prayer] we make mention also of those who have already fallen asleep: first, the patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs, that through their prayers and supplications God would receive our petition . . . ” (Catechetical Lectures 23:9 [A.D. 350]) For statues and images, please see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2PEmIKQgKmZiLs&ab_channel=AllisonLow I was a protestant before and really anti-catholic. So not so long ago I would agree with you. But after reading church fathers teachings and looking for some protestants and some protestant pastors who converted to catholicism (Trent Horn, Scott Hahn, Keith Nester, Jimmy Akin, Peter Kreeft, William Albrecht, Steve Ray, John Bergsma, Francis Beckwith, Lizzie Answers, Thomas Howard...) I understood that everything I disagreed with Catholicism was actually what the early Christians did. Matt Fradd KZbin Channel is a great resource too - Pints With Aquinas. And I want to be part of the primitive church! “There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.”

I converted in 2015 from MO Synod Lutheran and devout. My mom asked what was so wrong with the Lutheran church but she broke the news to my dad. My dad was the one who raked me over the coals theologically. But after 2 weeks of quizzing he told me he was jealous because I got to participate in the Lord's Supper daily and he can't. He then started asking questions to learn. He never converted but 6 hours before he passed a stranger brought a Rosary, a prayer blanket and a pamphlet on praying the Rosary or the Chaplet and he prayed the Rosary and died with the beads on.

Katherine, I was raised Catholic, converted to MO Synod Lutheran as a young adult. Now as a I approach middle age, I have been feeling the pull, with the help of Bishop Barron, Matt Fradd, Trent Horn, and others, back to Catholicism. The practice of the MO Synod, at least in my area, does not have the overt theological problems many other Protestant denominations have, but I'm questioning enough to have become unsettled, especially when it comes to the office of the keys/authority of the institution of the church and sola scriptura. I'm interested in hearing what issues led you to reject MO Synod Lutheranism and embrace Catholicism. Thanks.

@@jonwolfenstein7431 the main thing for me was the Eucharist. Everything I questioned in the Lutheran Church took me back to Catholicism but not to Jesus. But everything I questioned on Catholicism ended at the foot of the Cross at Jesus's feet. What I told my mom when I was converting was it wasn't that the Lutheran church was wrong, it was that the Catholic Church was more right.

Every day I get more convinced that the Catholic Church is the true universal (i.e., Catholic) Church. Nowhere else you find so many people from different background being attracted to the beauty of her teachings, her saints, her liturgy, her wonderful continuity. These guys are a great example of that. What makes it even more interesting to me is that I, my wife and three friends converted to the Catholic Church after decades of being in New Age religions. Now I attend to the same traditional latin mass that these guys go to in Austin and sometimes they sit in from of my pew. Hard to find something more Catholic/Universal than that.

the Catholic religion will never save your sister. Salvation resides in Jesus Christ alone, by God's grace alone and by faith alone. Acts 4:12 Why invite your sister to Mystery Babylon with its evil pagan trinity of Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz when the only One who can save you is Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6. Your religion can save no-one and the pagan Mary that you all pray to and practice idolatry with is none other than the goddess Semiramis with her son Tammuz. Salvation resides in Jesus Christ alone without the intervention of the Rcc Mary, works, merit, baptism, salvation as a process and obeying the teachings of the Rcc.

As long as that preaching was in line with Jesus's teaching in His Catholic Church, okay, but remember the homily is not the source and summit of His Church, it is the Sacrifice of the Eucharist His Body Blood Soul and Divinity, it is what we bring to Him and not what we get out of it, because we truly get "spiritually fed" by Him. We not only have relationship but are very intimately connected with Him like NO other. Yes it is an added gift to hear a really good homily but the real gift is Jesus in the Eucharist ♥️ We hear His Word in Scripture and become one with Him in the Eucharist. Oh My!🕊️♥️

I am being baptized into the Catholic church this Easter. I knew in 2005 I should do it, but fought it because I had been raised so anti-Catholic. But I really surrendered a couple of years ago and have been preparing. The Catholic church is the fullness of truth. My church was actually pseudo-Christian, and thus my childhood baptism wasn't recognized by the Catholic church.

Roman Catholic theology is not presented in the Word of God.

@@Wildflower77777 By the time of the Chruch Fathers, many of whom knew the apostles, the Catholic theology was largely formed. The Catholic beliefs about saint Mary are an example. Many of the Catholic dogmas were even believed in by the apostles themselves, like purgatory which is part of Judaism. Praying to saints is not worshipping them. It's telling them to pray to God, as God may listen to them more than he would listen to you. Salvation is only possible through the Roman Catholic Church, but not all those that will be saved will be part of it. Many Protestants will be saved, but they won't be saved through their own churches, as the Catholic church is the only correct one. About Ephesians 2:8-9, read the literal next verse, Ephesians 2:10. Also try James 2:14-17.

In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Luke 1:41‭-‬43 And: (Mary said:) ""for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed"" Luke 1:48 Mary is blessed~ and she is the Mother of our Lord💕 But she is blessed NOT because she is the Mother of our Lord; but instead~ Because she hears the Word of God~ has faith and obeys it. You might choose to die as a Roman Catholic but you will not die in Jesus Christ. You may not have read in Thessalonians 4 where it is written that when Jesus comes, the dead in Christ will rise first. If you are a Roman Catholic you will have been taught that salvation is by works, merit, baptism, salvation as a process and obeying the teachings of the Rcc. Salvation that comes from Jesus and about which we can read in the NT is 'by the GRACE of God, through FAITH, the gift of God and this NOT of yourselves by WORKS, so that no-one can boast.' Ephesians 2:8,9 Until and unless you are born again and saved by Jesus alone and Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given under whom we can be saved by Jesus Christ, you will not be entering the kingdom of heaven. Jesus also said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me." Note that Jesus alone is the One who can save you and you will not find one verse anywhere in the NT that tells you about either the Rcc or that it can save anyone. It is destined for God's judgement for its spiritual prostitution through the church age and it is not Jesus' Church.

It was an incredible moment, after all those years of searching, Our Lord was there all the time, just waiting for me to open that door, so he could enter in. It was like finding, the final piece to life’s jigsaw puzzle. Asking for a sign is probably not the best way of going about it! @@reginapontes5672 so refute me from the Word of God and let's see how biblically literate you are, Note that if we were to compare the doctrines, dogmas and traditions of the Rcc in its Catechism, we would find an obfuscating mess of discombulated Catholicese! I wonder if you have ever examined what the Catechism teaches about justification? Now just one example is 1987 of your Catechism where there are 3 blasphemous statements about the Holy Spirit. Now can you tell me directly from the NT which Person of the Godhead cleanses of sin, and justifies. It is not the Holy Spirit! Then take a look at the false Mary of the Rcc that is not represented in the NT. Tell me where the Rcc got all that rubbish about its Mary since it does not come from the NT. Note that the Rcc with its Mary and its crown is said to be Queen of Heaven. Now the Queen of Heaven is mentioned only in the book of Jeremiah in chapters 7 and 44 where it is mentioned twice. The Queen of Heaven is one of the mother goddesses who are mentioned by several names, Semiramis, Ashtaroth, Isis, and others. All have infant sons and the Rcc quickly morphed its nonsensical Mary into a statue with the supposedly infant Jesus as part of the paganisation that occurred when Constantine united all the pagan religions with the existing Christian church community in Rome in the 4th Century AD. If you compare the Rcc Mary with the biblical Mary in the NT you will not find any resemblance between the two. The Rcc Mary is nothing but a fabricated idol. God forbids idolatry in Exodus chapter 20 and Deuteronomy chapter 5. You should open up a New Testament and read all the verses about the biblical Mary who was not a perpetual virgin. Her marriage was consummated with Joseph; Matthew 1:25. She was a sinner and part of the 'all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; Romans chapter 3. She was not immaculately conceived, Ark of the New Covenant, the new Eve and she was not assumed into heaven. The one thing that the Rcc is brilliant at is inventing false doctrines, dogmas and traditions and being apostate, idolatrous and heretical with false offices of pope, cardinals and Rcc 'priests' none of which exist anywhere in the NT.

If it's about the son's doubts, "hey dad, debate this book for me" is asking the father to do a bit of song and dance. The biblical Mary was a sinner, she was not immaculately conceived and she was not a perpetual virgin and she was not assumed into heaven. She also had at least 6 more children who are recorded in the NT and most are named. Jesus had 4 half-brothers (adelphoi); James, Joses, Jude and Simon and two sisters at least. They are all written about in the NT and the verses are there. I can supply them if you wish. Just open up the Catechism to number 1987 about the doctrine of Justification. Now that numbered item declares that the Holy Spirit was involved in Justification but that is not true and you will find that the Person of the Godhead responsible for Justification is Jesus alone! Justification and salvation is not effected by baptism either. That is a lie.

The Rcc is not Jesus Church! Jesus' Church is written into the pages of the NT and is the Body of Christ of which He is its Head. You can read all the verses right throughout the NT and also come to understand that the Rcc is a man-made organisation that has invented its pope, cardinals and Rcc 'priests' about which nothing is written in the NT. Nor is there anything written about the Rcc Mary or worship of Mary! The biblical Mary is not the Rcc Mary and you can read about the biblical Mary in the NT. You will read about the Rcc Mary in the Catholic Catechism but not one word of that is found in the NT. The word 'catholic' was invented by Ignatius in AD 75 and it is a corruption of Acts 9:31. You will not find the word 'catholic anywhere in the NT nor any mention of 'the church throughout' meaning anything else except specifically 'the church throughout Judaea, Galilee and Samaria. What is apparent is that you pay more attention to men such as Scott Hahn who only teaches about the Rcc but has not got a clue about what is written in the NT, in context or cross-referenced. Here is where the corruption of Acts 9:31 was begun by Ignatius. Note that there is not one mention of the Rcc here or a universal church. Acts 9:31 ESV Acts 9:31 English Standard Version 31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. @@Wildflower77777 That's the same mantra you and your fellow anti Catholics (all 30000+ of them) say about the church. Take a look at your own sect or denomination. When did it start? Who founded it? I bet you will reply in the same way like all others, cite all the verses of the scriptures haphazardly, avoiding any mention of history. I suggest don't just listen to your pastor about the church; be objective as your very own salvation is at stake. Research! Don't just rely on meaningless interpretation.

Protestants do make some of the very best among us (Catholics). These men took a quest many are unwilling to do. Asking the questions and attacking the Church is easy if one never seeks the answers or verifies if their attacks have merit. I left the church in my teens and only now in my early 30s did I do my due diligence in discovering the truth. And come back. Now I watch Catholic productions everyday and try to stay caught up with the bible in a year pod cast with fr Mike

If more Protestants would simply talk to us Catholics they might find some surprises. Not to mention, any protestant who hates Catholics or claims us to be of the devil or whatever certainly isn't walking the path of Christ...just saying. Give Catholicism a fair chance instead of attacking and putting up walls. As a Catholic I admire and have respect for Protestants who walk this difficult path of conversion. I am so grateful that these programs are available to help us grow in our faith, learn to appreciate it more because of people like these men who searched out the best way to walk with Jesus. I grew up Catholic and never found someone to share my desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to walk openly with Jesus. Back then we kept our faith private. If we were open we might be considered phony, odd, or even loony, not living in the real world. So I turned to the Protestant ministers and people who believed if you don’t know Jesus you will not be saved. I loved openly walking with people who knew Jesus and studied the Bible. I wanted to bring this study and Christian music back to my Catholic Church. I began teaching School of Religion, because it was the perfect place I could share my faith. So I am so grateful that now we are out and open to love God and I can find stories of Catholics and those coming to Catholicism. Praise God and Thank you.

This priest shared one of his experiences while in the Seminary in Rome, he said one of his theology teacher once said : “ The New Testament was written By Catholics, For Catholics” The first sentiment one may have is outrage, but since facts don’t care about our feelings, when a second thought is given, the only possible conclusion is only a Catholic mindset can fully comprehend the meaning of the scriptures. Needless to say the scriptures were not available for at least 20 years after Christ resurrection, and for centuries, the oral tradition is what kept the faith, for illiteracy was tremendously high.

@@Wildflower77777 dor starters, the Word of God is Jesus Christ, not a book, it doesn’t mean the scriptures are not important, it means them alone are not sufficient, that’s why Tradition is an important piece of the doctrine, if you remember it right, for over 20 years none of the gospels existed in written format, and for about 15 centuries, direct access to the scriptures were very limited, so the Bible did not felt from the sky, it was brought to us by The Church. @@Tabatista281178 now of course not all that Jesus said and did could be recorded in the 27 books of the NT but what you are not apparently aware of, is that God has placed EVERYTHING He thinks we need to know, in the pages of His written Word. As for apostolic tradition it is ALL there in the NT. Who do you think WROTE the 27 books of the NT other than apostles and there was one close associate of Paul; Luke, a Gentile who wrote two books. Now as for the false notion of apostolic succession that the Rcc trots out, you obviously have not read Acts chapter 1 where we see what the qualifications for the replacement of apostles is. A man had to have been with the disciples from Jesus' baptism to His ascension. Now John died inAD 106 so can you please tell me which men would have been able to fulfil the criteria for being a replacement apostle AFTER the end of the First Century AD? There is no such thing as apostolic succession mentioned in the NT and the Rcc has invented that fairy story. As for the church fathers, not all of their writings are replicated in the NT, so they are false teachings of the Rcc. Guess that the words of men are your authority and the Rcc is your god.

I also experience this with my in-laws (yes) . Correct me if I'm wrong (I really might be), but I'm fully aware that their communion is not valid in the first place, and even the words of "consecration" are said in the erroneous symbolic presupposition. With that in mind, I'm fully aware that what I'm eating are crackers and juice, unlike the Eucharist, which is fully Christ himself. Just a sign of respect from my part maybe, to be polite I at least just condition myself into thinking that I'm just having some snacks. SERIOUSLY, PLEASE DO CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. I don't want to sin against the Body and Blood of Christ. It's just the best reaction I could muster for myself.

@@chicken-911 According to Canon Law 844, it generally is considered illicit to receive communion at a non-Catholic church. The reason for the Catholic Church’s general rule against sharing in the Eucharist with other churches is that a person can only be in full communion with one church. As a Catholic, the core of one’s union with Christ is union with the church. The center of this union lies in the reception of the sacrament of the Eucharist during Mass, which is both a confession and embodiment of unity with the Roman Catholic Church. So, although your heart of ecumenism is certainly sweet, it’s unfortunately not allowed.
