I got an ad for “psychics” on this video. Can you say irony?!?

They watch what you click onto and send adds to tailor it all. I just delete any kind of psychic reading adds. No way. Nope.

Same. I had one thought: No one believes you.

Aquinas may not be totally off with the human ability for minor 'psychic powers'. It could be studied but it seems like people generally get a sense when someone is watching them, even when they can't see them. Maybe that is just that they are seeing them from the very corner of their eye.

I’m pretty sure it has been studied and usually their guesses are little better than chance. If you’re curious, I would encourage you to look around a bit to find the exact studies.

Became Catholic after leaving occult. Now watching occult apologetics through Catholic lense. Oof

@@crobeastness Occult comes from Latin and means hidden. In the context of the video it means hidden forces at work or hidden and unapproved practices.

The Scripture and the Church explicitly forbid and condemned all form of magic and divination and medium and psychics and occult. What Jimmy Akin is talking about is absolutely unacceptable for Catholic to hold such heterodox belief.

My mother tried dousing for water when she was young. She said it was like a current going through her body when she was near a water source. I’ve never been totally convinced that this might have a physiological component to it rather than a spiritual one.

Where does Aquinas talk about this? I am a theology student and I want to learn more about this.

I had a dream where God told me to keep my vindication and that an angel would guide me on my journey. Vindication is mentioned in the Bible in Psalm 37:6, “ He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

The evil eye or jealous eye is real. My uncle often affected people around him. You would get physically ill if he admired a new object of yours.

Yes I have seen this happen. My children get sick every time we get a visit from a jealous family member.

Can flip Matt’s question around.. If Aquinas and Aristotle are so right on important topics why not take seriously their “silly and outdated” ideas on these side topics?

Jimmy, did you make a dig against climate science? I really hope you are not one of those foolish climate change deniers.
@marievalerie56174 жыл бұрын
If climate change is real, it would just be sign of the end times. Only God has control over that.

Climate has been changing on this planet, since the beginning of time. We can stop it by paying more carbon tax....

Not going along with every doomsday claim about the climate doesn't make you a climate change denier. Especially when the people who the IPCC and numerous countries consult with to produce climate policies admit they were scaremongering: environmentalprogress.org/big-news/2020/6/29/on-behalf-of-environmentalists-i-apologize-for-the-climate-scare
