One improvement Matt would be on screen graphics or verbiage. That definitely helps visual learner like myself. And many of us are on the move when listening and watching. Thanks.

We went through the Dave Ramsey course after 24 years of marriage. It was life changing. HIGHLY recommend doing it before getting married. I can only imagine how much better the tough years would've been.

In most protestant churches marriage is not viewed as a sacrament. Only baptism and the Lords supper are viewed as sacraments. That term has a very different meaning in protestant churches, because the sacraments are not viewed as literally granting grace in the way the catholic church teaches.

Baptism and Communion are the two Protestant sacraments, not marriage. As a Protestant, I was able to be remarried after getting divorced. This is something I've had to confront head on converting to Catholicism.

I see someone else already piped up about the 2 sacramants acknowledged by Protestants. I can add that Anglicanism & Methodism technically have all 7, but consider Baptism and the Eucharist to be Gospel (also called Major) Sacraments, and the other five to be Ministerial (also called Minor) Sacraments (or Rites). And Lutherans have 3 Sacramants... Baptism, Eucharist & Holy Absolution (Confession). I like Aquinas' explanations as to what they are remedies for.

@Big news I think we have a different definition of Apostolic Succession. And there we go, different semantics. That's half the reason we're a split church. May I ask you though, considering Lutherans & Anglicans also profess the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist (our Eucharistic liturgy is nearly identical), how is our Eucharist not valid, and the Orthodox Eucharist is? (we all agree on the What, we just disagree on the How).
@daithimcbuan5235

@Big news Interesting how you recognise Orthodox apostolic succession, and not Anglican/Lutheran apostolic succession despite what happened in 1054. Why don't you achnowledge Anglican/Lutheran bishops ordained (by 3 Bishops) post-reformation, but you do recognise Orthodox bishops ordained after 1054? Also, we don't believe in Consubstantiation. Neither do the Lutherans. Lutherans maintain that it IS the Body and Blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ... full stop. Like the Orthodox, they don't explain the how. Only Catholics and Anglicans/Methodists try to explain any how. You with Transsubstantiation, and us with Spiritual imbuement. Accidents of bread, substance of Christ. We're really saying more or less the same thing, just using different words. Again as you pointed out... different semantics. We're straw-manning each other (well, I'm not straw-manning Catholicism... I consider it valid).

@@friendly_user1233 I am not trying to be overly persnickety, but as a Protestant, Presbyterian to be more specific, I can safely assure you the vast majority of Protestants are not even sacramental. Those who are, generally only hold to the sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist. Never in all my years have I ever heard of Protestant refer to marriage as a sacrament. Again, not looking to be argumentative, just setting the record straight.

I don’t believe in the seven sacraments. We take communion to remember Christ until he comes not for some special grace. Christ gives grace without sacraments. Believe me, these are false doctrines. The Catholic church is full of man-made doctrines. I know this for a fact.

Since Jesus Christ is both fully man and fully divine it can be said that all Christian doctrines are man-made doctrines.
@matthewhall6444

Does it not bother you that for the first 1300 years of Christianity, (thereabouts) the catholic church *was* the only church? As far as I'm aware, every single branch of Christianity, apart from Catholicism, was man-made? All "denominations" of Christianity were either founded by men who claimed to have "insight" from god or a "revelation" from god. Catholicism, whether you like it or not, was the Church founded by Jesus Christ himself, and is the oldest branch of Christianity on the globe. This is historically true and undeniable. While you can argue the church teachings, you cannot say that the Catholic church is man made. As for the Eucharist, Jesus makes it clear; John 6:53 - 56 "Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him." Jesus makes it clear as possible that the Eucharist is true body and blood of him. If you actually read the bible, the phrase "Amen, amen, I say unto you" is a very sacred phrase. This phrase historically and doctrinally means "I firmly believe", or a step further as Fr. Larry Richards says, "I stake my life on this" Jesus says "I stake my life on this, he who eats my body and drinks my blood shall have eternal life" As for the "not some special grace" you say, what does Jesus mean by "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you." or what does Jesus mean by "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him."? Do you really think he's talking symbolically here? Notice how this one teaching is what scares most of his disciples away, but Jesus doesn't take back what he said. Most of the disciples are scared of this teaching and want nothing to do with it, and they leave Jesus over this. Jesus doesn't go "nono guys come back, I was just speaking metaphorically, don't leave!", no. He doubles down and says "Amen amen I say unto you"
