I just bought one of these from Joe and I am impressed with the build quality. Because this thing is so useful I think that a glovebox like this should be included stock with the Pioneer 500. Even though there was initially a major delivery screw up with my box (due to an issue with the Canada Post service here in my rural area) Joe stayed on top of the problem until it was resolved.

Joe’s build quality is top notch that’s for sure! I’ll admit I was hesitant at first about giving up my switch plate but man, I’m sure glad I did...lol. Thanks for sharing!

Today I finally got around to try to do the install for the great looking glove box that I bought from Joe. However once I drilled out the rivets for the useless Honda warning panel on the dash, and then used a jig saw to remove most of the required piece behind the panel, I saw nothing but some heavy wires and electronics where I expected to see an empty space where there should have been an obvious mount to screw the box into. I live in Canada and I'm thinking that maybe the P500 that they sell here is structured somewhat differently behind the dash than what I see in this video. Now I have a huge hole in my dash and if I want to install the glove box it looks like I will have to move the electronics aside somehow and then construct and weld in a new mount for the glove box. FARK!!

That’s a bummer! I wonder why the difference? Yours don’t have the automatic and manual transmission does it?

I have a quick question for you kinda off subject.I know you have spent a lot of time on the 500 and i wondering if you recommend removing the sway bar or not?
@AppalachianMountainRiders6 жыл бұрын
Yes yes yes yes yes yes and yes...lol. Had mine off within a week of owning it. With the little suspension travel they have that little bit extra you gain from no sway bar makes a big difference.

Ive been watching your channel for a while now. I am considering a P700-4 due to it being 60 inches and less than 1500lbs (ok on public lands here in FL). Really want P1000-5. thoughts on 40hp 3 speed? thanks!

@AppalachianMountainRiders6 жыл бұрын
northrupdp unfortunately I have 0 seat time with the 700 so everything I say for here on is just hear-say. From what I’ve herd the 700 with the 3 speed is fine if you don’t care about going fast or do a lot of hill climbing. The sad part is that the 500 actually has a better power to weight ratio than the bigger 700. But from what I’ve seen, 700 owners that don’t care about going fast love them. Check out hondasxs.com and check out some post in the Pioneer 700 section. Lots of great guys there the would easily be able to answer any questions you may have. I’ve had several people hit me up about doing vids on the 700, maybe I should see about getting one or at least finding someone that will let me use theirs for vids!

The short time I had with the X4 I was very impressed. If I didn’t already have a 1000-5 I would probably have gotten one. I will say that Yamaha’s accessories are so much better quality than Honda’s. But you have the cvt with the X4 and I do like Honda’s transmission. Shame you have to be under a certain weight to ride public land

So is this guy the same person as Crossroads 3D, or are there two people out there 3D printing glove boxes for Honda UTVs?
@AppalachianMountainRiders Жыл бұрын
Joe Keepler makes this choogbox and it’s metal, not 3d printed. I think crossroads is the only one making the 3d printed ones.
@Devin_Stromgren Жыл бұрын
@@AppalachianMountainRiders Oh, why does it look 3D printed on my screen? Is it bedlinered?

Unfortunately, it’s where Honda mounts the winch control module....
@1983thunderbird6 жыл бұрын
I want to mention something to anyone thinking of purchasing one of my glove boxes. If you have your dealer install a winch for you pryor to taking delivery of your Pioneer, YOU NEED TO HAVE THEM INSTALL THE WINCH CONTACTOR IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION OTHER THAN THE FACTORY LOCATION!!!! This is a very simple thing to do (not a big deal). If your winch contactor is already installed, it can be moved. Very simple! I can't tell you how many people message me saying my glove box will not work with their model year Pioneer, because there is a "Factory Module in the way". This module/winch contactor you guys speak of, is not something that is installed at the factory! I just want to make everone aware of this before ordering. Thanks for your time. If you would like to order one of the glove boxes , you can contact me at Choogbox@yahoo.com $115 USA and $145 usd Canada Includes shipping

I was just going to comment about that! Thats the contactor mount!

You do a lot of great videos. I will say that you have helped me decide not to buy the Pioneer 500. It seems like a guy would be better served (and get out cheaper) if he stepped up a level in price and got a machine that already has all the cool things you’ve added to your pioneer.
