In the late 60's my father had a crew running 7 or 8 of these and as a little kid I built up 11 from his spare parts. Left them all in a shed when we moved to the city and by the time I went back they were gone. ( it was only 11 years later) still have his first stihl 049av in excellent condition as he only carried that on the dozer with him. This was in Tasmania in the early years cutting eucalyptus for pulp wood trials. They were a good saw for the time but needed constant maintenance when run 8 hours a day. Cheers and thanks for the videos.

McCulloch Eager Beaver Chainsaw sat for a long time Restored with new carb, filter and plug. Have a hard time setting carb. Runs, then has hard time restarting. This saw has been a pain ever since I bought it new. The heavy saw you rebuilt seem to hold up better. Great super saw demo.

I finally found me a 266, little beat up but the bones are good. Good compression, no scoring on the piston. I will be picking up a new fuel line and filter cause I know its sucking air, also a carb kit and manifold gaskets and I think I will have myself a fugly but good running saw that can ride in the back of my truck without me having to worry that some ones going to steel it.
@johnsonlong12722 жыл бұрын
Just picked up a pioneer 750 a couple weeks ago it had a dead coil took me a little time to find a winding that would slide onto the iron laminated core but I think now I have it all figured out this week hoping to get the time after work to wire up to the points and see if we have spark then move on to any fuel related issues maybe I will get lucky in them old diaphragms in the carb will work hoping to have her up and running in in the wood soon the anticipation is killing me lol.
