Pioneer DDJ-REV7 Unboxing, DDJ 1000 Size Comparison, First thoughts and Set-Up

Good initial insight on the Rev7. I will visit your channel next, but I would really like to see a video showing how you compose and make videos lol. I loved how you were live and were able to switch angles and cameras. What programs/software to use.. that would be awesome. Great work!

Liked and subbed, looks like you've got a killer studio setup going there... Home and mobile DJ here, and currently using the Denon MC7000 with Serato... looking to maybe pick up one of there this winter, but anxious to see what comes out between now, the new Serato release, and NAMM show season... I'd really like to get some moving platters at some point...and maybe then I'd practice the turntabilsm side of things more and use more scratching and "battle" type stuff in my sets when I play out. As of now I rarely do much of that outside my home. Looking forward to seeing some more of your content, and maybe another Rev7 video after you've had it a bit... gonna check out your channel ... cheers

Thanks! Yeah, I had the MC7000 for some time. I went on to the DDJ1000 and never looked back. The Rev7 is pretty cool, but after using it at a few gigs these last couple months - a bit overrated. I have to say, I haven’t been a big fan of Serato. Mostly due to the fact that it tends to be sluggish (especially booting up) and limited to only one streaming services you can use at any given time. I run my DDJ1000 on Rekordbox, and quite actually prefer that program over Serato. That being said, I believe the stand alone units would be the way to go in the future… particularly the Denon Prime series. I’m not giving up my Rev7 anytime soon, but it really doesn’t see many gigs as my other units.

Nice video, I was the same once I received my Rev 7. Once you explore the unit, you realize it's an amazing controller. Did you invest in butter slip mats. Check DJ Henray Custom to get some. Enjoy and stay blessed!!

been using the ddj 400 a while and was thinking to uppgrade too ddj1000, but the rev7 looks better IMO. is it worth the extra money for the rev7?

It really depends on what you want out of your controller. The Rev7 is a 2 channel controller with a bit of a learning curve with digital effects and the tempo slider above the motorized platters, great if you’re a turntablist and like the feel of spinning platters; it’s a beautiful unit. But I’ll be honest in saying, that my DDJ1000 still sees more events than my Rev7. Bottom line is, the DDJ1000 is great for the controllerist and the Rev7 is great for the turntablist. 😉 (I’m more of a controllerist). Hope that helps, but they’re both good units. And btw, I still haven’t found a good flight case for my Rev7.
