Thinking about buying this with in the next 48 hours. My Rain TT57 has had enough abuse from me. I hope that going from my rain & pioneers over to this controller wont be to much of a difference. im in the clubs 6 nights a week & I dont have time to try & " figure it out " I also dont want it to be looked at like a toy by my dj brothers. The layout is nice, especially for someone wanting to utilize Serato DJ but also have the familiarity with Pioneer CDJ/DJM type setups. Wondering, are the FX in the mixer section "hardware" and usable with analog inputs? Are the "Serato FX" on the decks post-fader? Not sure what to think about the oscillator FX, but for certain things and styles of music they might be good for build-ups and such. Jog adjustments are a nice touch, wish the SX2 had those, as well as the extra strip to the mixer section with mic controls. Having the input matrix above the trim pots makes sense as well, the SX/SX2 has them in a somewhat odd spot if memory serves correctly. I think that this will be a great fit for some folks, who can afford this vs. a DJM or single CDJ...hahaha.... But for me I think my eye is still going to be on the SX2 and other controllers that fit into that bracket. For my level of skill and style, I think that a Denon MC6000 Mk2 might even be workable if I were to add a Reloop Neon, but there is the issue of jogs being a little too small, as well as no dedicated filter per channel, and it seems a little cramped. That's what you get with all of those features crammed into that small a device though. For now I'm happy with the Terminal Mix 8, but hoping for a TM12 to keep me from buying the SX2 as my next upgrade. Whatever I get will function as a standalone mixer, and have DVS capability. I just don't think I can justify this over an SX2 or similar, where I could get a flight case and a decent new Windows Laptop, and maybe still have money to spare, compared.... Also, I don't know if I'd really benefit from the size, I think it's a little big too big for what I need. I would love to see the SZ next to an SX/SX2, or one on top of the other...... but ultimately, this is just a little much for me, even though there are definitely some bits I really like. I'm sure others will find it a better, or near perfect fit, and some of them will even be able to afford it...hahaha Thanks again, and as always, your videos are great. I feel dirty writing about all this gear I lust for...LOL Time to go feel up the Terminal Mix 8 so it doesn't get jelly.... or worse... :) Keep shining bro...

Yukuba Holmes Pioneer DDJ-SZ can run up to 4 dj softwares. DDJ-SX can run 5 dj softwares. If u dtk five dj software. It’s PCDJ DEX Pro.

There were complaints of the early units having delay in the jog wheels, so you should get one that is newer or does not have this issue. It may also need an upgrade Firmware to correct the issue...

You press that to monitor your master output in the headphones... It's another way to do it without using the CUE/Master knob...

There is a knob above each channel GAIN/TRIM knob that allows you to go from PC deck to PHONO, to LINE to select the inputs on the back. Really easy to do.

***** Thanks Kareem, so the CDJ's are the most independent and have the most compatibility. I have another question for you if thats ok. I have a macbook pro which I could use for the SZ however I use the laptop all the time and I travel quiet a lot. If that laptop goes down thats me not mixing until I get it fixed or a new one. However with CDJ's if your laptop goes down your still able to mix but only what you've stored on a flash drive. If all my record box songs were lost on that laptop and I got a new laptop could I plug the flash drive into the new laptop download record box again and all my hot ques and information be there like before? Also can a iPad be used for either the SZ or CDJ 2000 nexus???

The Panel button on all controllers refers to changing the view in Serato DJ. The different panels let you access and see on-screen either FX, Sampler, Flip, or all at the same time...

Absolutely none of the Sound Color effects are Post Crossfader effects (not even the ones within Serato DJ because the mixer performs as a standalone mixer and not like a controller) and only the ECHO Sound Color effect is Post Line Fader only. Pretty lame...

Brother Wolf Yes, its true!!! Lots of people are disappointed about the effects not working post crossfader on this. Again... ONLY the Echo is post Line Fader only. The rest don't do anything after the fader... and nothing for the crossfader! Even Serato DJ Effects!!! Tested this over and over and over as I also was in disbelief...

I need help I need a mixer with a really sharp kut on the fader . Any suggestions 250 pounds 500 dolla mark . 2 channel mixer and for scratching and turntablist . I spent 300 pounds on a urei 2 ch mixer and the kut is lagging and don't feel sharp I made a bad choice and should of done research or went with a mixer I had years back the technics dmc comp mixer and that was fine but if anyone knows a kut better than that dammm please give advice.

I'm currently using Serato DJ 1.7.3 and I am having a difficult time deleting my crates permanently, When I hit control and delete and highlight the crate it disappears but, reappears when I put my hard drive in the computer or restart Seratos' software. I'm afraid to hit the shift+control+delete which would possibly remove the songs from my hard-drive. Is there any way I can delete the crates permanently without deleting the songs for my hard drive?

Yes, this works with Traktor, but you need to download a TSI file to make it work. This works BEST with Serato DJ.

You press grid when music is stopped so that you can adjust the grid in the software. You hold the grid button then use the jog wheel to move the grid forwards or backwards...

I bought one. It does not have post fader FX like DDJ-SX or DDJ-T1. Only f... 'color fx' can be post fade... I didn't expect such a dirty trick from Pioneer. They should be ashamed.
