The Pioneer DDJ-T1 four-channel Traktor DJ controller provides comfort and usability for those wanting an introduction to Pioneer gear. Vinyl and CDJ users will feel at home with its unique jogwheel performance, and the simplified four deck control with fader start adds flexibility to mixing. Here we take a look at the DDJ-T1's differentiating features.

I started out with Traktor and now I've got my hands on this, everything has just clicked! Love the feel of the jogs, the fader start option, the master/sync buttons on each channel, the chained or advanced effects toggle. I have D2s either side making this a complete modern setup and it's all very snappy and responsive (more so than the DDJ-1000 I traded) on an older macbook. There is an aux input but this controller probably would of been more in demand at the time had it shipped with two, no doubt. Also, reviews at the time marked this down for not having post fader effects, it does from Traktor 2.6 on.

They are both great, it's up to you which you choose but you need to investigate for yourself and your own requirements.

The answer for to the DDJ-T1 is the DDJ-S1. I use one at the club I work at. theres a monitor out on the back and Serato Itch is just awesome. I came from using CDJ's to Virtual DJ on a Vestax controller and then the DDJ-S1. Ive tried the T1 and i didnt like it. Yeah it may have 2 extra channels but its not really a professional unit. The S1 however has XLR out and also AV outs which is perfect for club use. it sounds awsome!!! Try it ;)

Yes it has the aux input so u can plug and ipod ipad iphone or an android device

Ok, so as you've said you've read a lot of reviews so I will just give you my opinion as someone who's used both in club environments. In short, if you've used Pioneer before, the DDJ-T1 gives a very familiar Pioneer look and feel. It's an amazing unit. It's feel is rock solid, it looks great, and I would go as far as saying its the first all-in-one controller that is at home in both the bedroom and the club. It's money well spent. The S4 on the other hand felt plastic-y and small.

use passive speakers mate, like KRK rokit 5, or ikey audio line. or passive speakers to mixer, phono lead from back of controller to mixer... very simple and easy to set up..

I had an S4 which I got pretty much from when it came out, it then proceeded to break out of warranty. i then got a DDJ-T1 last October and been using it since and it's brilliant. IMO far superior to the S4. I use mine as part of my mobile disco setup. cannot fault it or Traktor.

thingk are changin man traktor have done great job with pioneer to make the first traktor mixer ever 2 channels djm t1 i hope they are working with 4 channel mixer for traktor thats nice !

without considering price, which is best: The Kontrol S4, the DDJ-T1 or the Numark 4Trak ? My current favorite, which I am planning on buying soon, is the 4Trak. What do you think?

Just so everyone, knows there is a place for an MP3 player to hook into. On the front of the unit there is a 1/8" plug for a mic. This same plug is used for a alternate device. Next to the plug there is a switch for mic or auxiliary with separate volume control.

@onlyBabesNObrocnts I play on 1200s and 1000s and have been djing for over 16 years. Iv used this controller and aim to buy 1 for 2 reasons, 1: I play medium and smaller sized venues when i play in my town and 2: I want my home setup to stay home and not need to be broken down every weekend. At nearly 1000 dollars it is definitely not within immediate reach of the 14-20 ear olds around here r will be lucky if they can find jobs working at mcdonalds atm if at all. I understand your concern tho

Hi! I am a beginner dj. I have a Pioneer WeGo, which I bought to help practice basic skills and mixing. Im now looking for something that will help take my mixes to the next level. Currently just considering adding a Tracktor F1 to my WeGo so that I have greater control over effects. Could anyone suggest a good all-in-one controller / mixer + controller combo? I am a student so budget is limited, but am willing to save up if considered to be completely worth it. Any suggestions are welcomed!

they r the top ones... i have the ddj t1 and i play live and till 2day i didnt have any problem. but a have a friend, he got the s4 and is also good...... 2 me ddj t1 is beter cos the jogweels are bigger and u have more sapace betwin the buttons. good luck

hey hello I have a question and hope you can help me. I bought a pioneer DDJ T1. But have the feeling that my mac it does not look good. If I connect him he does anything. Only the lights of the jock wheels and deck a and b are on. Furthermore, I never press. Nothing lights. Could there be a problem with the Djj t1 or is it my mac. I have the DJJ T1 bought secondhand. So have no official software. But with tractor demo he also does not work. Have already downloaded various software but nothing happened. I hope you have an answer for me. grt Ronald The Netherlands

If you're MAC doesn't look you could try painting it. Also, instead of never pressing the nothing lights you could try pressing them to see what happens.

Guys.. I just want a real,sincere,and a full answer on what I'm doubting..I'm soo heated up for buying Pioneer ddj-t1 and traktor s4..I watched a lot,I mean a lot of reviews and I can't decide anymore..really My question is,which of these controllers is better for use in the clubs,as both of them don't have the booth output..I want to start small,play at home and then play in small clubs,but with this controller..so what is the best I can take?And is it possible to play in the club with the ddj?

Depends what speakers you're using, buy active speakers and all you need is a cable to connect the two

I am looking for a controller compatible with Traktor as that it the software i am most familiar with....I originally was drawn to the Ergo...but it seems limited and a bit too shiny and plasticy...so I've been looking at this as it is seems to be more robust and has 4 channels...and shaped for TRaktor...but it still seems to have it's flaws. Traktor and the like are the same regardless of what controller solution you use for me my CDJ 400's triple up as cross media players and midi controllers, so why would any one buy this for the near /same money when you can have the best of both worlds?

i dont get why people would buy this instead of CDJ 2000/900/850/350/400's i only have cdj 400's i will never need another player so long as I have these all in one solution on standard cdj format. cant beat it. the only obvious advantage this has is it portability and integrated mixer. I think there are better solutions on the market for £750.

Wait no there is Booth output. The RCA Out is supposed to be for booth speakers while the quarter inch out is the main output for sound!

Pioneer DDJ-T1 is better suited for vinyl DJs, Traktor s4 is suited for push button DJs. The DDJ-T1 has a more real world non-digital feel, very analog'ish. Traktor S4 has a very new world'ish Digital Age, non-Analog feel. Both are excellent controllers, Numark's Mixtrack (not Mixtrack Pro) is a budget friendly alternative. IMHO controllers should not be used in clubs, controllers are for home and travel usage.

@onlyBabesNObrocnts This thing is a good tool to have but using it alone and having never learned to mix proper on vinyl or cdjs and then calling yourself a pro would be getting a bit big in the head maybe i think. I personally think if youre going to do anything u should know the origins of the craft and carry a basic knowledge of it. to me the title DJ has always stood for disc jockey and not DELL jockey but these are brave and new times were living in lol :D I still like this thing tho
