The big boy has arrived! Pioneer DJ have just announced the brand XDJ-XZ 4 channel all in one DJ system for use with USB, Rekordbox and Serato!
Product Specialist and regular Rat Cave resident Sami swung by to talk Ratzi through all the features of the brand new standalone controller, including brand new features never seen before on a Pioneer controller!

denon is good for dj the want mobiltiy - to outdoor party but if you have more djs in the party we have problem - its look like denon is replace ni for now & its like apple & samsung .

Price and Performance, Denon is kicking our butts. I was waiting for our (Pioneer's) response to the Prime 4, I'll be honest, I think we (Pioneer) fell short. I'll continue to wait for our (Pioneer's) response. I like a few things on the XDJ-XZ, I just think that it fell a little short. (keep in mind Price/Performance/Prime 4)

Totally agree the Denon is amazing but the build and industry standard I just couldn't bring my self to order the Denon. Foolish really now I think but them jog wheels man. I can not wait to get it.

Does the build quality from the jog wheels and knobs is the same to the DDJ-1000 and the same to the CDJNXS2?

DJ Kit, If you had to choose on a controler between Traktor Kontrol S4 or Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ what would it be and why ?

Although the S4 has those wicked Haptic Drive turntables, it doesn't have any standalone functions and is limited to Traktor. The XDJ-XZ offers a lot more, but it is more expensive! The choice is yours!

Hi, can I ask you something . I love all this DJ equipment, all the players, and i want to bye some of these. I ask, is it possible on some of these dj players to autoplay all songs in the usb, with auto adjust and sync tempo on fixed value, auto mix crossfade like 4 sec mix time, and use the player like ordinary mp3 player ? I am not DJ but I am crazy about these players and want to play at home.

I’m surprised you guys didn’t mention anything about the cross fader. I want to know if the cut-curve is better/sharper than the a Pioneer DDJSZ. I know cross fader capabilities is imperative to scratch DJ’s so that’s a selling point you should mention. Also, I didn’t see a needle search; is there a needle search replacement on this controller?

That's also what I got from all this. For real stand-alone action, just the 2 mid channels are able to play your USB(s). The other 2 channels need to be connected with either some Turntables, CDJs or a laptop. That's sufficient for me, but not "real" 4-channel stand alone. Correct me if I'm wrong plz.

This is almost the controller I've been waiting for Pioneer to bring out. It ticks a lot of boxes for me, the stand alone capabilities being one and the endless tweak-ability and extras crammed in too! I would still like to see a Pioneer 4 channel stand alone as I'm Definitely team Pioneer not Denon. For their build quality and long lasting kit, I imagine there's a load more development that would need to go into that. I couldn't work out how you switch jog wheel control between 1-2 and 3-4 when in 4 channel mode? I have a DDJ-RZ and it has a couple of buttons each side for that..

Someone found out that there's 2 ways to switch, first its in the software, there's a 'soft' button to switch on the screen. And second, you can switch by double pressing the 'shift' button

Same here.. this is "almost" exactly what I was waiting for, in response to the Prime4, and as an upgrade for the rx2. Unfortunately it ticks a lot of boxes, but misses a few too... Semi 4 channel, I can live with. No screen improvements is a miss though imo. No flac support dito. No 'major' update in a sense... Still doubting what to get...

Hi One really important question for me. Is there any possibility to connect Pioneer RMX 1000 station to XDJ-XZ in same way like for example to DJM 900NXS2 ?? I would like to take full advantage of its possibilities.

Kind of, it has a send but no return. The effected signal will need to come back in to one of the spare or aux channels.

Every introduction of the XZ starts with an unneccessarily long riff about the mic EQ and talkover function - if that's the most exciting feature to open with I'm not impressed. Industry standard in my view and not relevant for the majority of DJs. The rest of the unit looks pretty straight forward and easy to adapt to, which is good in a way but also just more of the same. I could still see this in many bar and small venue environments, proper clubs will thankfully continue to feature top end gear

I wish it was full 4 channel also, but I get the business side of it. The Nexus setup would lose some market share because this thing is half the price. For me, this is exactly what I wanted, I can't tell how HD that screen is but I want it.
