How did you figure all this out? Very helpful
@ChannaDeSilva Жыл бұрын
Hi! I spent a lot of time with it. I bought it and I told myself that I would figure out how to use it. With a lot of trial and error, I got a pretty good grasp of how it operates. From there, it's a matter of integrating it into my DJ sets. I'm glad you like the video!

one of the most valuable things about scenes is that you can have a whole new set of samples in a project with their own patterns, which means you can run an entire set of different songs (which is implied obviously in your video) but might be lost on some when trying to figure out how to use scenes within a project. You can create a coherent performance set that way, IOW. Even up to 16 songs if you had one scene per song....
@ChannaDeSilva4 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, 16 songs if you can break down each song into 16 patterns. Still trying to figure out how to create build ups...

Channa De Silva - DJ Producer Musician mute parts, pick a snare, roll it via effects ribbon, add a filter on top of it, cue up next pattern when ready to end build up, get filter face going, boom, DROP IT. 😂

@@ChannaDeSilva The only problem is that you are still limited to the 256 mb of space. I just tried to export 4 scenes of 64 samples and it was too large sadly.

Are you likely to cover MIDI syncing with other gear such as a drum machine? Getting a clean sync from CDJs to MIDI is one of the big draws of this sampler for me.

Your videos are good and clear bro.. Very people can make like this..... Keep the work up... and thanks for your effort. Between are you working for Pioneer?
@ChannaDeSilva6 жыл бұрын
LOL! No, I don't work for Pioneer. Thanks! I'm glad you like the videos. I'm just a guy trying to perform some live electronic music. Guess what? I have my setup going and everything was working just fine, and then...all MIDI out signals from the DJS1K stopped. No MIDI clock, no MIDI notes. Nothing! WTF?! So I have to wait for Pioneer support to open up and see what's up. If they can't fix it, I'll exchange the thing and go from there...
@djjas7646 жыл бұрын
omg thats really really but for the live artist... thanks for letting me know this bug.... hope they listen to you... for toraiz users you know what they did...... ;-) good luck and must make a video of this bug too. So they can see.
@ChannaDeSilva6 жыл бұрын
I spoke with Pioneer DJ support and they said it's some sort of hardware failure and the unit needs to be repaired. Luckily, I'm still within my return time from zZounds.com, so I am exchanging it for a new one. They are sending me the new one next week.

@j.s.27494 жыл бұрын
hey channa, highly appreciate your video, amazing work - it helped me a lot! As I see that you also using NI Maschine, I have one question remaining before I go and buy the DJS : Is it possible to prepare Patterns in NI Maschine and export the whole Scene (incl. instruments + Patterns) to the djs tsp program?
@ChannaDeSilva4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I don't think there is an easy way to do this. I think you might have to bounce out each sample from Maschine to get the samples into the DJS1K. Then, you would have to manually enter the pattern into the DJS1K.
@wpf3126 жыл бұрын
Great tut thanks! You mentioned harmonic mixing at the end...does the software analyze loops for key (like rekordbox or mixed in key) and/or can we view key info if file type has metadata (aiff)?
@ChannaDeSilva6 жыл бұрын
Hi! No the unit does not display any key information. What I meant was that you would have to organize and know what tracks will be in complimentary keys. That way you can overlap like if you were DJing harmonically.
@wpf3126 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks. So you’d have to include key in the name of file or something like that. If you have a lot of scenes loaded (as in this vid) how can you quickly view the name of a scene or all the scenes...(like browse/show info on a cdj)?
@ChannaDeSilva6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can totally do that. You can save the scenes with a key code in front of it in the file name. You can also save a project with every scene in that project being in one key and label that project the key code. It all depends on how you are using the unit. If you're using it in conjunction whit a CDJ maybe loading up one scene from every key would be good. It's up to you really.

I have some doubts regarding Pioneer DJS-1000. I have been using Akai MPCs for a long time. Currently using Mpc 2500/1000/ Renaissance. My concerns 1) How many samples can I use at a time within a single pattern? ( In MPC, for a pattern we can use 16 x 4=64 samples in A,B,C and D banks normally) 2) How many samples can I layer in a single pad ( In MPC I can stack 4 samples with separate Volume, Pitch and Velocity levels)
