The "TR" Series back in the day for this Pioneer Car Stereo was made for "TRUCKS" and featured the Super Bass feature for use with some speaker enclosures that you could put behind the seats in a truck for more bass. And yes, the DIN connector was intended to be used for Pioneer's component amplifiers in that era that had a DIN component inputs (like the GM-120 / GM-123 and GM-203 Amps in the USA (and the component only input amps GM-121 and GM-201 for other parts of the world), the USA versions of the amps has RCA as well as component inputs). Glad to see the repair (I used to do lots of repairs on Pioneer Car Stereo equipment in the 80's and 90's) and happy to see this deck continue to be loved and used.

I had no idea the TR indicated a truck model but totally makes sense now. Thanks for the info!

Hats off to you for having the patience & determination to work on car audio. Not my favorite items to fix. This one will live on for several more years. Awesome video, thanks for sharing

Thanks for posting; these decks were amazing sellers back in the day. Once upon a time there were millions of Supertuner decks in circulation...both in and under dash. Not many out in the wild anymore. Shame about the roller tires or this deck would be ready for battle again.

I'm a slot car guy too.... there is a little devise to make the tyres true, it works wonders on pinch rollers, GOD know if you can still buy them though.
