Duct Tape on the cover... that is a new one ;D I bought one of these brand new back in 76-77. Still have it :) I got mine with an Audio Technica AT212EX cartridge (elliptical). I forget how much it was, but it was a big purchase for me back then. This video will be handy when I do some servicing on mine. Thank you!

I just picked up a very clean, probably never serviced PL-530 today at an estate sale. This will come in handy when I decide to crack it open.

I had a Realistic Lab-500 recently that I was able to rectify a speed irregularity issue on by using a small syringe to drop some DeOxit on the crack around the adjustment disc of the variable resistors. It will seep into the “pot”.

You would have been well served by reviewing the owners manual prior to starting the project. It won't "auto start" when you have it set to manual mode.
