I’m a Hifi nut myself-and I own some pretty exotic equipment so I’m absolutely loving all these Hifi related diagnoses and repair videos-please keep them coming Simon.

I have a full pioneer system in its original boxes which I have owned since new in about 1990, it has been in storage for about 15 years now, I really should dig it out and get it up and running.

I have bought a microphone stand similar to an anglepoise arm. Good idea?

Hi Simon, may I ask why you have up loaded this video within a 4 x 3 frame? Still a good video but kinda odd thing to do.
@SoddingaboutSi6 жыл бұрын
I edited it in 720p by mistake. As it took 2 hours I couldn't find enthusiasm to redo it!

Should not make any difference,I edit and upload most of my stuff in 720p. It should still fill the wide screen frame. Your video was the correct ratio but for some odd reason it was contained within a 4 x 3 box. You should not have had to re edit it, more to do with how you uploaded it. PS I understand all about enthusiasm!! My claim to fame is working on a video for 4 hours then deleting it by error.
@SoddingaboutSi6 жыл бұрын
Ah I see your point. Yes why has it not filled the full frame? Very odd. Will have a look at the settings.

Yes. I had a rage last week when a tower of amplifiers landed on me!

Simon Spiers occupational hazard. It could have been worse if it was a stack of valve amps.

The problem with the "entry level" junk, dating back to the 80'ies are the notorious STK output modules. They have a nasty habit of blowing up for no obvious reason. The original STK's have been out of production for many years, NOS is rather difficult to find. There are Chinese fake modules for sale on Ebay, but I would not trust those. Fortunately, this one has regular output transistors.
@SoddingaboutSi6 жыл бұрын
I Always check to make sure it's uning transistors rather than those hybrid things. Been caught before with one of those.
@jaycee19805 жыл бұрын
The STK's are actually fairly easy to clone with your own parts :)
