These look great, and this is an amazing video showing what theyre capable of. One of the better review type videos out there.

@ScottBarnhill225x To answer your question, You probably could run it just off your HU, however I'm not sure if the crossovers would still be affective or not?? I would highly recommend getting an amp for them, because they are rated 60rms each and I'm throwing 100 to each speaker. I'm powering them with a Pioneer GM-D9500F amp and I bought it for $175 off sonicelectronix. Pretty much this amp can throw more than enough power to these speakers, if cranked way up, they'll pierce your ears.

@TheAkshay0021 The speakers are taking 100 instead of 60 that are needed according to the owner. From what I read though, that pioneer amp pumps 75rms @ 4 ohms, and those speakers are 4 ohms. So he's getting 75 rms not a 100. 100watts are given only if the speakers are 2 ohms from that amp. BTW, niice simple setup, Im thinking of setting these up on my car as well... same make and model, same color, different year and almost the same HU.

@dubmaticJRJ These speakers love 100 watts each and get really loud and stay crystal clear, and I only have these component speakers up front and stock speakers in back.

if they dont ,. see what kind of offset oyu can make from the actual door frame to door panel . you cna buy 6.75" mdf rings or make them . the 3'4" offset uaully allos for no or less cutting and as long as you clean the door panel youre good ot go . check mounting depth, pull door panel . roll window down and measure to check for clearance ( acct for 3/4" spacer rings) and youll see if itll work . im abut to do the same in my pilot with these. seem legit for the $ , adding jl zr800's too.

I just installed the same set yesterday, they're replacing SPR-60C (Alpine Type-r 6.5 Components) The Alpine's where laking a lot of the 200-800hz range (midbass) ... After 1-2 hour of listening, I think they sound awesome and natural. The tweeters sounds a bit bright on techno and rap but they still sound very clear. I'm driving them with a JBL 2 Channel amp @ 75W RMS. I have an Alpine Type-R Subwoofer for the lows. BTW I also have a Mazda 3 and a Pioneer 3200BT headunit lol..

Hey, how is the mid-bass response on these? I'm trying to find a good set of components under $150 that's around 60 watts RMS. Mid-bass is pretty important for me. Many have said that you need to turn the tweeters down to -3db or else they'll be pretty sharp.

These speakers can take up to 150 RMS quite easily, I bridged a PDX F4 amp and they still did not distort so considering you only have 75RMS to them, then you actually are under powering them as I'm convinced Pioneer has just massively underrated them, if you feel they are a little bright I suggest tuning them down through the crossover if you haven't already, that's what I did with mine and I'm blown away by how cheap these speakers are with the sort of performance they pump out

I'll get a better/more powerful amp in couple of weeks, I'm looking for a PDX as well. BTW if you want to get the best SQ possible with your Pioneer, I suggest you not to raise the volume past 34 because that model starts clipping on the RCA outputs at 35. Try setting your gain on the PDX at 34.

I will be uprgrading my tahoes highs and mids from bose to these i have 3 12s are these loud
@Luke_Schmidt12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm pretty set on these. Will 50 watts RMS per side be enough? I'll be 10 watts short of what they are rated for. I don't want my amp to clip or anything. What do you think?
@Luke_Schmidt12 жыл бұрын
Ok, I'm gonna bridge the channels on the 4 channel amp so each side will get 100 watts RMS. Buying these NOW :)

Hello. i just bought those. i want to amp them now. which amplifier do you have + subwoofer? should i add speakers in the rear or should i stick to front components + subwoofer + amplifier? thanks regards hope you reply!
@Gonzalgi2110 жыл бұрын
you can add cheap speakers in the rear or stick with stock ones, sometimes you have people sit in the backseat that like to hear the clearness also so i replaced my rear speakers with aftermarkets but they are amped by the head unit unlike my front speakers.

According to Amazon it does.

I've run 150 RMS to each before and they didn't even distort, it is seriously ridiculous how these speakers are being sold so cheap, they are high end quality, 50 RMS is too short you'll risk blowing your speaker by not giving it enough power, but if it's all you got then go with it, from my experience 100 RMS is what these speakers love and it's what I've currently got running to them, go with 50 RMS for now but look to upgrade to 100 because Pioneer has underrated them massively

Do not buy any other speakers, these top the over-priced type R's from Alpine and arguably sound as good as the type x 13ref from Alpine, as i said to another commenter on here I'm blown away that this sort of performance is being sold so cheap and underrated from the manufacturer, so firstly just buy them, dont listen to anyone trying to sell you on over priced junk, these speakers are ridiculous, second depending on your type of music -3db is better especially if they are up front near ur ears
