Well that was a depressing ending. My unit (in the US) is in exactly the same condition and I was hoping in the end you would say something like. "Oh, look, it's this 1K ohm resistor. It's easy to get to. Right on top of the unit and if you replace it with a 10K ohm resistor, it will be fixed for all time and put out twice the power with half the distortion, while fixing you toast in the morning." Anyway, thank you for sharing. I'm sure it is useless to many people, but I actually like hearing your thought process as you go through it. Thanks for posting. I'll go look at the follow-up and see if there's useful information there. I suppose there might be a non-zero probability of just finding the whole panel with the chip on it and replacing that board?

I had this issue on an older Yamaha the other day. I repaired it was a bad 5V reg. I then removed the front to get to the volume encoder, fixed that and then put it back together, could tell processor was trying to do stuff but was no longer getting the signal for the relay. Totally stumped. I ended up taking a different dc (4.8v) from that zone and i ran that back to the relay transistor and it worked fine. Just better to unplug the amp when not using, also power switch still works to turn unit on and off just that regulators and amp section receiving power all the time. Thinking static may have killed it or perhaps it has a 5V in which becomes the one that is switched out rather than from it's own vcc. Perhaps I didn't see something like that. Still pretty satisfactory.

The transformer and heatsink are still useful for a potential project.

Hi, on some pioneer home theater integrated receiver, faults may cause for not powering on and had some blinking indicator somewhere on the front panel (mine is a TIMER LED). To reset these fault try to press 'Stop' button and the power button at the same time (since mine is a home theater unit it got media keys), doing this will turn on the unit. Hope this help

Thanks, A good read on this 'protection circuits' can be found on pioneer xv-htd7 service manual chapter 7.1.12. Maybe this will guide on your repair journey.

I have this amp..It's standby transformer has gone. Do you know the output voltage of that transformer..?
@JonnyFix3 жыл бұрын
The schematic doesn't say but looking at how it's connected I think 14Vrms would be ok.
@sajithsadakalum4713 жыл бұрын
@@JonnyFix I think 9v or 12V....because filtering capacitor voltage is 16v..
@JonnyFix3 жыл бұрын
@@sajithsadakalum471 The AC output needs to be enough so that you get the required DC level, I think after rectification 9 or 12AC won't be enough, but you do the math to be sure.

Hi Johnny I have a vsx830 with a blinking mcacc light when it turns on. Everything is dead. Have you seen this before and do you have any advice?
@JonnyFix3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry I have not seen that fault before. If it's still there after a hard factory reset (process not always shown in service manual) start by looking for bad solder joints and checking power rails are ok.
@bornontheusa4083 жыл бұрын
First check the power amp rails, then the 12v rails, and the auxiliare rails, the secondary mannage the standby to turn on the unit, so check the secunday transformer and aux rails, if not check the power button and signal going to the integrated circuit below the pcb , the big one
@riaanleroux59724 жыл бұрын
check the primary of the mains transformer for open thermal fuse also do a factory reset

Well I got a similar situation with my VSX519v. I didnt get very much use out of it the whole 15 years Ive owned it. I finally watch tv on hdmi and turn the pioneer system on. I notice the sound was very quiet. I turned the volume up to 35 and I hear a noise and off goes the receiver. Completely dead. No power just like your unit is doing in this video. After watching this video Im going to assume my unit is going to be put in the trash as it sounds like its non fixable. I was surprised to see the inside of this 519v as it looks like a computer. I suppose all the laying it has done the electronics just have deteriorated to being faulty? Such a shame as my unit is like new condition in appearance & board wise.

Dam it's one of those times where fancy systems stops everything dead :-( Normally i would be checking protection systems, output stages failure. Not sure in this case so that's two of us lol.
