Of course at 21 years old you know it all. Ive been installing pipe for 20 years so you were 1 when i started, and my opinion is they did a fine job with this piece of pipe. The grade looks good, the operator is fairly smooth, the men stayed clear as the pipe was being lowered in. Good job.

The only thing I see, that I have to point out that is totally different, is that in this video the walls of the trench are way, way, WAY too steep than what we do here! This must mean that the dirt there is totally different than the dirt here. In North Dakota this trench would have caved in and covered the rock and made a real mess. But the video shows trench walls that stay put?

To Roninfalls only. You are correct. Everything shown was tested, engineered, and inspected by 3 government agencies. Laws and rules vary in different regions, and those who compare it with other regions, just lack understanding or are looking for negatives. . Thanks for your input.

no benching no shoring no sealing joints rubbers and your telling me every pipe is the same so sub grade trenching base is perfect .more than 1 mould is used so not all pipes are the same unless u get all same numbered pipes from same mould lined up .Where i come from when someone tells u how long they have been doing the same job they arnt good at what they do . you work out how good they are i call them a knob sorry u have been installing pipe for 20 years thank god i wasnt there!

It's actually a 1 year old, 450 Hitachi. Thi pipe is a rotary cast, reinforced, bell and spigot, about 13 tons, made locally per city specs. Yes, the sub grade and bed course was graded with a pipe laser. These 3 guys are the entire labor force, and does everything to build a housing subdivision, and this company would never reduce the crew to save money. One guy is the foreman. We have been doing this for 30 years and have not had an accident, other the the band aid kind. Knock on wood.

Wonder why they didn't put strips of Blk Goop, it's a sealer that goes on male end of the Pipe, that's dangerous not being Stair Stepped Down, plus not much counter weight on the Backhoe, no Tag Line on the Pipe, but it's good seeing this again, it's been awhile since,,

we have higher standards down under rubber band goes on out side of pipe, not inside to join. also from old to new pipe concrete band reinforced mesh is added for extra stability for transition multiple pipe runs we sandbag between pipes and concrete slurry half way up pipe.again i cant state this enough if u have to tell someone how good or how experienced u r it doesnt wash with me Roninfalls still waiting for your geotechnical engineer to turn up, can post video whos interested.

That is the most unsafe trench I have ever seen. That heavy excavator is sitting within 3 to 4 feet and creating ground pressure that could cause the wall to give way.

John Stepp well you must have shit for experience. I can tell you just by looking at that material that it's fine. I'm not sure where you, but I'm guessing you've probably got less than a few years experience, and probably work somewhere with a lot of sand, and think that the only way to go is to have a trench box and a million shores.

@Skara555 A test trench was monitored for many months, with never a trench wall failure. Soil was tested by Geo engineers. The soil is very hard, decomposed volcanic rock and cemented naturally. Soil load bearing reading exceeded test scale schedule. Final determination followed OSHA standards of the time. Some trenches were shored, depending on other factors such as weather, Duration, depth, width, vibration, and others.

@hatilt didnt know safety was a negative 3 government agencies i swear shoring dates back later than 1990s or even a escape rout with a ladder now we have a geotechnical engineer and three gov agencies in the 1990s where everything ive suggested rarely took place yes different laws but basic commonsence should be world wide im wondering that both comments come at the same time is it phone a friend time ps to roninfalls only kiss kiss hatilt gives a shit nerv damage.

@hatilt14 жыл бұрын
Bless you jock, wish you peace in your life. It is obvious that you don't know what you are talking about. Safety is not the negative, you are. The lack of shoring and shape of the trench was determined by the soil tests according to OSHA standards. You can continue to look for negatives, but your ignorance shows through if you weren't there.
