Some top work there again Calvin👍 In the middle of a pair of similar sized spools at work at the moment, different in that they're 8"sched80 with 300lb weldnecks each end, 3 off 4"branches in them, along with 4 off 2" o'lets offset from the branches at 45° and all fully tig welded 316.

What are your weld settings? Are you using pulse mig? It would make a great video to show in detail the technique you use to weld around those couplings
@BDE3603 жыл бұрын
That’s short circuit mig, pulse doesn’t have all the splatter and is much faster

Love the channel mate keep it up, being a boilermaker from oz ill throw in my 2 cents lol. I feel the use of a string line or chalk line to mark out the outlets would have been quicker as you just have to mark one end then level it to mark the other end, run ya chalk line mark ya centres for cutouts then roll 90 degrees and run another chalk line and mark centres for this axis, simples. Whats the job for if you dont mind me asking?
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын

Excellent Video, if you can please explain, elaborate, and show the following. What type of industry is this used for the fluid passing through it, your mic machine and wire used amperage and wire feed speed, your blue prints showing symbols. I understand your actually at work but it would be nice to see the actual weld of a joint and how you hold your Gun. The symbols you write on the pipe what they mean. I know I’m asking a lot but I learn much better when things are explained and why instead of reading out of a book , it’s a retention issue. PS: As simple as it is the way you find / make a center line on the pipe with the torpedo level is TruelyTrick. Thank You.

If you watch my 8" on 10" you will see some good welding shots and as for drawing i cant show some things, the pipes have a non disclosure so i cant show everything but bear with me im still new at this and everything will only get better with time 👌🏽

This pipe for example would be connected to a pipe one side and capped off the other and each stabbing would send water to a room or system.

Is it possible to put a chemical and particle filter into the adflo at the same time, or just each separately? I would like to buy a Speedglas or a Kowax. I weld steel and stainless steel and then I have to grind right away, like the ones in the videos. They told me that it is always possible to put one filter in the filtration, so I don't understand why the hood is 2in1, when I have to change the filter to a particle filter after welding. Sorry - google translator
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын
Naa u have been told wrong, the filter is just a fancy particle filter that grabs air from your back which isn't in the weld cloud but it doesn't filter out the poisons, for that u need an additional unit that goes b4 the particle filter and thats for the gas and there's no need to change filters back and forth, i dont use it because its heavy

What sort of tolerances do u work with i mean thats a lot of connections from one pipe lol
@olgajoachimosmundsen46474 жыл бұрын
To me it would almost seem like the other pipes will be constructed according to this pipe, or that the spans will be long enough that there's room for 1-2 mm tolerance.
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын
The pipes have a 3mm tolerance, but this would be installed early on and have final site measurements taken to this, but this part is a header it would come off a booster pump or a boiler and go to wherever it needs to go

How does all the welding on one/two sides affect the straightness of the pipe? Is that why you have something welded on the opposite side to protect the pipe from collapsing?
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын
Yeah your right, when the welds cool they shrink so all of them welds would make the pipe bow like a banana so the channel helps reduce that.

Why didn't you grind out the slag from each cut out hole? Double stacked welds, because you can't weld good enough to be safe enough with one weld. I know many complimented on your work, but if I'm not honest, you'll never learn and get better. All the slag is going to destroy pumps and whatever else its hooked up to.
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын
I dont show everything on camera, all the slag is cleaned from the inside and off cuts are taken out, and it was a sample piece they wanted 2 runs, but we not all as good as u 🤷🏾♂️
@ARCONEWELDING4 жыл бұрын
And if you knw anything about these system u would know there are strainers before the pumps or fine water ways 🤷🏾♂️
@tyl40454 жыл бұрын
There's always that keyboard inspector 😆 I think it looks good man, I double stack my caps on vessels not because It will leak without it, but so I can meet spec with the weld size. We do all dual shield here though.

U can't even call your self a pipe fitter welder u weld mig not stick
@Dan-lm9hk4 жыл бұрын
Sorry bud, I come from pressure vessel/pressure pipe welding background, this looks like some 3rd class water pipe we would get the 1st year apprentice to make.....bare wire mig would never be used to weld completely out on high pressure gas pipe/vessels, only STT on root run. I'm guessing none of your welds are subject to RT, UT or the WPS you are welding to has passed required mechanical tests at sub zero temperatures?? Maybe should be called pipe welding for amateurs? Please don't insult the professional welders by calling this welding for pros! Cheers.
@mickben.54814 жыл бұрын
So only boilermakers, welders and fabricators who's work is tested are professional?
@Dan-lm9hk4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, you can interpret my comment how you like......this is just my opinion. This kind of mig welding is very basic and carried out on class 3 water pipe. But to answer your question......In my opinion, to be classed as a professional pressure pipe welder, you should have gone through a 4 year apprenticeship as a minimum and then have min 5 years post trade experience welding pressure equipment to qualified WPSs and relevant Standards. Then let's see if you post a you tube video mig welding on water pipe calling it "how to pipe weld like a pro".......I highly doubt it.

Why can't able weld one go with out stopping on branch's around? And your welding always down hill welding on pipes it not method to down hill welding on pipes. Your guiding short cut weldings and dogging welding skills to beginners. Your not using good and professional welding methods on pipes welding.
