Piper and Leo were destined foreach other. Not just in personal lives, but also fighting the good fight. When Leo became a mortal, late half of s7, they managed. But his powers helped out a lot when they needed it. Don't think Dan as a mortal could've been that much of help for the in between times of now and 2nd half of s7.
