Earth maintained an important garrison on Asteroid Y-3. Now suddenly it was imperiled with a biological impossibility - men becoming plants.

I notice a lot of keyboard warriors calling people 'dips shits' etc....where I come from in Scotland you would get a punch in the mouth for that. Grow up and try and enjoy the stories that someone had to work hard to put up for your enjoyment and be thankful...or you put some up. Thanks NewThinkable.

I will be 70 soon & have a lot of fond memories about these old novellas & short stories , when we immigrated from Libya to america I taught myself to read English from these story's , our neighbor had a subscription to galaxy magazine & a bunch others , when he finished with one he would let me have them , 1950's & early 60's america was a fantastic era for sci fi & best era to be america , I wish all these unhappy kids who protest everything in sight could have experienced an era where words were just words so they could enjoy these story's , too politically incorrect for sjw's .

I was with you right up until your alt right sjw shit, without sjw's you would never have been accepted in the US as being even human. Maybe you would be happier in a world where people die from cuts and children are worked to death in coal mines, try thinking before jumping on the stupid bandwagon.

@@enhaxed7839 I have to agree with you, 50's and 60's are the years of civil rights movements when these "unhappy kids" protested against racial segregation. Imagine this guy walking into a "whites only" restaurant and being like "words are just words" after he was arrested/beaten for entering.

Greedy rulers are pretty ungrateful to the people that allow them to rule and make all their money for them. There's nothing virtuous about passively accepting injustice. Justice is good. Having a conscience is good.

@@enhaxed7839 I think the guy meant the modern day "warriors" fighting against the imaginary oppression in the rich countries where they know it is safe to protest against everything.

"Excuse me, Professor, but I can't take the exam. I need to stay outside in the sun, I'm a plant!" Right, this excuse might come in handy once spring is here, but for the time being, I do not envy the plants for being outside all day (and night!), freezing cold as it is!

In tje 60s and 70s i was enamored with phild, asimov and bradbury. Omg! The FIRST TIME i read ddwine or last ? But sad to say in 2020 5hey seem childish and imbecilic. Jist watched INTERSTELLAR AND PASSENGERS LAST NITE. SCIFI HAS MOVED LIGHTYEARS AWAY FROM THESE.

Standing on the shoulder’s of giants , without these early authors of sci-fi the newer stuff would not exist ! Also look at all the shit that is released every year ! Especially those containing “THE MESSAGE”! Peace out from the police state of north Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿!!!
