How come you don’t feather the prop during VMC demo? Just genuinely curious. Is it because you don’t want the other engine to shut off?
@BATAviation3 жыл бұрын
No - you don’t want to feather the prop because you don’t want to actually get down to a VMC redline. That’s why you demonstrate VMC higher than actual red line. You just want to demonstrate loss of directional control.
@altemp1006 күн бұрын
Appears you got close to stall speed as you also lost directional control..around 57 kts. Is that correct?
@BATAviation5 күн бұрын
Close to VMC speed - but you won’t recover at VMC in your checkride. Our DPE likes around 70kts(I think)

Never use your ailerons in a stall
@BATAviation3 жыл бұрын
If you’re in a banking stall then what is the first thing that you want to do? you want to level your wings so ailerons would be needed.
@BATAviation3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you have that confused with a spin?
@LoxosM3 жыл бұрын
@@BATAviation you always use rudder to level your wings, never aileron because it increase AoA of a wing with higher possibility of developing from stall to spin.
@BATAviation3 жыл бұрын
@@LoxosM That’s something I would have to read more into. I’ve never heard of using rudder to level your wings.
