Hi Bearski. Have been ill & in hospital for a couple of days so haven't been able to catch up with your videos yet but glad I've managed to see this one. I think it's really fascinating watching how the piranhas react to prey. Like I said in my last comment (the video with the bull frog) I was always under the impression that as soon as they sense prey of any kind or size they automatically go into a feeding frenzy. They really are wonderful fish. Thank you so much for sharing your very passionate hobby. Hopefully now I can catch up on the rest of the videos lol. Take care Bear. Stay safe 😀

I have had Tiger Barbs in a tank with Red Devils and Oscars. I introduced them at med. size and they had a rough time , but, they survived I also had them out number the tank mates by three pairs. However, when the barbs grew to a large size their schooling became aggressive and they had no problems maintaining their existence. I say that to say this, grow the Barbs first in a school together then introduce them at equal size equal numbers. You may get a different outcome.

I wonder if the previous groups of barbs were eaten at the same time because the change in light/temperature, who knows, may have been during a breeding cycle where, even though the piranhas didn’t successfully reproduce, any type of foreign fish-even those as small as the barbarians-would be a threat to the young in terms of there being enough food or even as a physical threat to the young piranhas wellbeing?

@@Bearskimethod you definitely have my subscription and a new broski!👍 it's not all about the piranha to me in your videos. It's the naturalism and all around passion for caring for the creatures that depends on you. As a father of 4 (2 I adopted) I connect with good vibes, and I would definitely let my kids watch your Ranas eat some chub, frogs, snake, mice, etc! Still better for their knowledge than Disney these days 😂

I'd imagine you would need to keep this tank pretty well fed to avoid losing some tiger barbs, yes? I love both and having them together never seemed like an option to me I don't wanna try it and watch them get eaten lol
