FWC Officers Sargent, And Allen were dispatched to a vessel in distress in the area of the mud keys. Upon arrival, they observed a vessel, with a man later identified as Mr Ball waving a flag to get their attention. Mr Ball will eventually tell them that he's been at sea for 7 days because his motor has failed. Leaving himself, and his two vessels stranded at sea. When the officer offer to transport him to land, he states " I will snap my neck before I leave my boats. This is my home" Now seeing that these events all took place before a rather large storm, I spent hours fixing the audio to remove as much wind distortion as possible. And I've included captions for various parts of the video.I will also be fact-checking several things the officers claimed Mr Ball to have said, which ultimately ended up getting Mr. Ball Arrested, and more than likely him losing his home.

I live on a 100,000+ acre lake in Northern Minnesota.....keeping the water clean and pristine is quite important to us...... we rent a boat every spring in the Miami area...... in the Biscayne Bay area between San Marco Island and the Main Channel there are 100s of anchored boats dumping all their trash, waste, poop, and pee right into the water.....it's absolutely terrible.....they are starting to do safety inspections at like 2am, and have removed all the public docks around the area, making it difficult for them to get to shore for supplies.......heading back there in 12 days can't wait lol.....

He will never have faith in any law enforcement again. They were not that far from land. They should have towed him to shore. It wasn't that windy and the water wasn't wavy at all. Now his boats are a hazard and he is sitting in a prison at taxpayer's expense for tens of thousands of dollars.

In Australia we have an organisation called Marine Rescue, they do get some funding through the government but they raise a lot of money themselves through selling memberships, sponsorships, donations and huge support from the local community through fund raising activities. It is extremely professional organisation with modern boats and is totally manned by volunteers. The volunteers are generally older seamen and ladies that have had a lifetime of experience on the water. Marine Rescue would have immediately rescued this gentleman and towed him to safety, if he could afford a donation or pay to become a member then they would gladly except the offer. If the person was doing it hard then there would be no expectation for him to pay, that’s the Australian way.

There are more boats in Florida alone, then all of Australia. Hundreds or Thousands of boats a day get towed down there. People have to be responsible. Some tows cost 500 dollars just in fuel if there having to run offshore a ways. Then you have the tow boat cost of wear and tear, plus the employees pay. That's not practical here, but cool that you can do it.

I was on house arrest when I was much younger over 20 years ago. My probation officer came to do a check up and she decided I would be better off in jail than at home so they took me to jail. ( jail is way worse than my home ) then the same probation officer was late to get me out of jail to go to rehab and if I would have missed the bus I’d have had to go back to jail. At the end of the day because of the legal system I spent 2 months in jail (60 days) and a month in rehab so 88 days incarceration on a 45 day sentence they almost doubled my sentence and I was told to get over it. They did rescue him! They were more than willing to take him to safety. But what they weren't able to do was spend tax-payer funds to tow his boats. He made an irresponsible choice to take those boats out on the water. I'm sure it seemed like a nice idea, and a way to escape society, but boats cost money to maintain and live aboard. He created a costly situation and wanted other people to financially solve it for him. I empathize with him not wanting to lose his home, but that doesn't make it the police's responsibility to foot the bill to recover them. Their job was to save HIM, which they did.

Meanwhile I just finished watching a half hour video of two immigrants who were fishing the Coosa river system for white bass. They were taking their boat out of the water when they were approached by a wildlife officer who asked them if they had caught any fish for the day in which they replied, no. Here all along, they had almost 100 fish over their 30 fish limit. no identifications on either of them, no drivers license, and one didn’t even possess a fishing license. They were driving a brand new Dodge Ram truck with what looked to be a brand new Tracker boat. All in all it looked to be about a $60,000 set up ….USED! The two wildlife officers not only let both of them go on their merry way with just a citation, but they also them keep their 30 fish limit. Tell me what the f..k is going on in this country? Before the commercial marine tow companies came on the scene (Sea-Tow, Towboat US), the USCG would tow boaters in distress. Now, they will respond to emergencies for sure…but they then turn the salvage over to a private contractor, just as is done following a car accident. As a taxpayer…I don’t want the USCG or any state agency incurring the expense of towing a broken down boat.

Thinkin what this guy needed was a hot meal, a shower and a hug; after the cops made some kind of connection to provide boat rescue for his crafts. And, some mental health help being offered might have been helpful, too. Perhaps, he would have appreciated being able to talk to someone about the struggles of his current situation with an eye to, if possible, providing some type of help or support over the short to medium term. Punishing a person with mental health distress/issues and adding to their stress/distress load is a form of cruelty. I never heard him threaten the cops although he ran his mouth in disgusting ways. He said some off the wall things but he didn't threaten to do any harm to them directly wishing harm on someone isn't a crime and these boat cops definitely screwed this guy over and he was already in a bad way I'd rather see him out on the water than on land. 🤨

Yeah and what about the "pirate" click bait. Was expecting to see him arrested for piracy or boat jacking. Just some nut in a boat.

It’s pathetic how they arrest you for a ‘non admission of guilt’ but a ‘admission to take care of the fine’!!!!! You only pay a fine if you guilty.

What the hell did he think they were going to do? I can’t believe they didn’t drag him off the boat and let it float away. Cops aint your friends unless they your friends
