I always have the feeling that I am the only person who has ever seen that movie (I was alone in a probably 300 seats theatre) and no one I know has seen it. And I love this movie to bits. So funny and with good music, cool story and it has Philip Seymour Hoffman in it. My top five music related movies. ❤

1960's 'coming of age' memories are made of this. Pirate Radios like Radio Luxembourg & Radio Carolina operating at sea outside the 12-mile limit circumvented the highly restrictive broadcasting laws. Great for listening well into the night as one 'swatted' for school exam finals. As an old song put it 🗣🎤🎶'Memories are made of this'

If I remember correctly, it was renamed Pirate Radio for international release. So it's one of those schizofrenic cases where an english language movie from an english language country has two very different english titles in order to sell it to english audiences. It is a maddening practice, but it occasionally still keeps happening. It's as if distributors don't realize that we have the internet and think regions are self contained bubbles like they were until the late 1990s.
