Another excellent analysis, the game was a very important for Pirates to win because psychologically because it now made a statement that we're force to be reckoned with if we can beat Al Ahly in their own backyard. We had to prove it again after beating Chabab Belouizdad at home. We answered all the questions of Doubting Thomas's. The next round can't come early enough.

One thing about Mofokeng is that defenders panic when he is around because he is unpredictable. You just don't know what he is thinking when he gets the ball. The two defenders panicked and committed mistakes.

Am losing respect for North African teams after watching them several times includingMS Alger vs Yanga. The players fake injuries, waste time unnecessarily, argue and intimidate referees, use lasers, complain when losing. They're a big turn off. They dont seem to enjoy the beautiful game, always angry. In 🇿🇦 we enjoy the game, win or losing. Thats why you find Chiefs and Pirates fans sitting together at stadium during a derby game.

Impressive performances by Orlando Pirates, who, as you rightly pointed out, have answered every question in the group stage. They have looked like a team that belongs in the CAFCL. I am okay with Djoliba and Sagrada cause Belouizdad also got a 6-1 whooping. They qualified and earned their spots, not every team will have the experience to impress on their 1st appearance. The quarterfinals will be action-packed, and everyone has enough time to improve and show up stronger. For me, Al Hilal and Orlando Pirates will be my pick if any of them can get past a fully fit Al Ahly. MC Algiers is my dark 🐎

We do have strong defenders who can deal with those crosses , i can see you are still not convinced by this pirates team . But if you get carried way and start attacking carelessly you Will get punished

As an ahly fan. I'm disappointed with two things. 1. Half of the team is gone, multiple players are leaving and we have only 1 available winger. Only Two available center backs, Yasser btw has been very bad this season. Yet no signings have been made, even with Koller, the fans etc begging for it. 2. Is Koller subbing off Marwan Attia too early. I know Marwan is playing through an injury. But I'm more than sure if he still played, Orlando wouldn't have scored the second.

@sharonkhaloСағат бұрын
With Sundowns, was it a mental issue? I think they were nervous from the beginning, even the commentator picked it up. But then they calmed themselves as the game continued. Towards the end before they conceeded the goal, they were making mistakes. I think this affected them negatively. In the last 5 minutes they just passed the ball amongst themselves at the back. My guess is that they were really afraid of losing the match. Obviously they tried not to show it. And also I suspect that the coach has not given them confidence as yet. I think if the coach is any good he will work on the mental aspect. The funny thing is that when they were playing in Morocco against Raja a man down it didn't slow down their determination, they were going forward looking for that goal. But I think here the stakes were very high. Maybe they are too used to exiting the group stages comfortably. So maybe this was new territory for them. They will try to boost their confidence with wins in the domestic league I think.

Omar Al Saaiy got his first start as a RW but he was supposed to take a defensive midfielder role. Emam Ashour has been playing four different positions every game. Since there is only one available winger in the whole team. Koka and Khaled Abdelfattah are fourth choice full backs. Nedved plays once every month, Afsha usually comes of the bench.

Really disappointing to hear a lot of north africans glorifying this dirty playing and call it tactics, this is not football honestly. The entire game people falling crying for every foul, flying into the penalty area from 1st minute looking for penalties and stuff, its really making this Champions league a circus, if people believe they are good enough they must play football and win not this silly tactics. If we had good referees a lot of these North Africans would've being getting a lot of cards and ultimately red cards for similation, intimidating the referee and decent in general. So those North Africans are the last to actually be crying about referees. I just knew we stand a better chance of beating them at home when they want to win cos they're not going to be able to fall around and waste time and they are also not going to be able to defend a low block there

From my standpoint, you are a Bhakaniya, which means your perspective on the game was on a supporter’s point of view (and we respect it), therefore an honest neutral pundit will sound biased to you and I fully understand.
