In this video we take a look at the multiple mounting options for pistol caliber suppressors.
This includes pistons, fixed barrel spacers, fixed barrel mounts, and 3-lug. In addition to discussing what options are available, we also explain why a user may need a specific mounting system for their suppressor.

Fantastic video. Thank you. I'm trying to figure out if pistols like Beretta 92s can use Tri-Lug / Three-Lug mounts because their barrel doesn't tilt... or whether they need a booster like Browning-style pistols. This video at least finally clarified what the different mounting options are, which seems to be something people rarely explain.

I’d like this x100 if I could. I’ve been looking for answers to exactly what you just covered for three freaking hours, you answered everything- what these options/parts are, what they’re for and why it matters. I’d had been all jacked up had I not found this so thank you for taking the time to explain to those of us who are flying solo. I *rarely* have time to mess with this stuff so that supressor has been sitting in my closet for more than two years, had NO idea what to do when it didn’t fit my Glock 17…I’ve got the wrong stuff sitting in my shopping cart at Midway right now so thanks again! Now I’m just ticked off because all I asked for was a 9mm supressor, the best available. He showed me a GM-45 and said it was backwards compatible. Didn’t bother to tell me I needed other things to make it fit. I’m ticked off because I think that there were and are far better 9mm cans but I don’t want to stand in line for another YEAR at the moment. Thanks a bunch!

Thank you I was worried I purchased the wrong suppressor, when I saw rugged doesn’t have a direct thread mount available for the Kriss Vector. However they do have a piston and spacer..

You don't need a piston for the 3 lug mount? I have a scorpion with Omega 9k in this is all new to me. I bought the low profile Tri lug mount

I just received my octane 9 and I had to order a direct thread mount for my scorpion or AR9. I couldn’t locate the spacer you had mentioned. Do you know if they still sell them? Amazing video btw!!!

Great vid, and great info. Question. I’m going to be running an Octane 45k on my 9mm AR with a 1/2-28 9mm barrel. I would want the 45acp 3 lug mount for the can and then the 1/2-28 9mm 3 lug barrel adapter for the barrel correct? From what I can tell that is how it should be done and it would all be compatible. You would want the 1/2x28 male portion, and the 9mm 3 lug mount. The 45 mount is for the projectiles, not the can (if that makes sense)

Thank you for this video. I have gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure out how to get the Omega 9K mounted to CZ Scorpion EVO3. - I have purchased the 1/2x28 thread adapter. - I have also ordered the 1/2x28 piston. - Also the fixed barrel spacer. Is there anything else that I need to install on the Scorpion for direct mount?

Does the Beretta M9A1 require the fixed barrel spacer, or the spring? I already bought the XL piston, but I'm unsure as to whether I need the fixed barrel mount or the spring. Thanks

Spring for best reliability. The fixed barrel spacer may or may not work.

Do I need first of all a longer barrell with a specific thread for my Springfield Armory .45 ACP XD Tactical? That's my question. I don't want to buy a silencer that I can't screw on the existing barrell.

Is there a way to mount a silencer onto a pistol using a three-lug adapter? Would this still allow the slide to cycle after firing?

You could physically mount it, but the pistol wouldn't run at all.

I'm having some issues trying to figure out what I need to mount my 9k for my Scorpion Evo S1 Pistol (Now SBR). Ir says it has 18x1RH(I assume that is the threads for the hand guard nut) and 1/2x28 and that's what the flash can was mounted to. So as we all know, the 9k comes with 5/8x24 direct thread. Everywhere I look, I can't find a 1/2x28 9mm direct thread. What are my options?

Ideally, a piston as the barrel moves rearward when the pistol cycles.

I have a brand new omega9k and the silencerco 3 lug mount . It's on a CZ scorpion and when I do two mag dumps the suppressor gets hot and it unscrews a little bit from the 3 lug mount and then I got to screw it back on is there any way to keep that suppressor tight . I have the alpha tool pistol wrench that came with the 3 lug mount is there any way torque it?

For handguns that need extra length to clear a guide rod. It's a rare case, but once in a while you run into one where a full length guiderod hits the can.

Really wish there was a three lug mount that would work for browning action pistols lol. I'd three lug the hell out of all my fire arms for my hybrid

That's pretty common, as the manufacturers have no idea what you're attaching it to. To add all the mounts to cover everyones bases, it would double the price of the can.

Ok since I got my 3 cans I have not use them yet because anytime I look something is missing; so for a .22 can direct thread a piston is still needed? how about for a .30 can? and the 3erd one is a .45 but they are all multicalibers; so does this means I need 3 Neilsen devices or one for each caliber I intend to shoot?? this is a fricking nightmare, I liked me better when I just shoot without getting into this suppressor money pit crap, LOL.
