You wouldn't need to do this unless you run it completely out of fuel.

I have a Ssangyong Rexton 2.7 i have ran out of fuel thinking i can make it a few kilometers then got stuck i then changed fuel filter

Now it starts then idles for 40 seconds then dies

Drive it untill it stays idling, it might cut out a few times when you stop but just restart it and keep driving. It'll take a while for all the air to bleed out.
