Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS Black Series: Rise & Drive | PistonHeads

A great car on a great road, early in the morning with nobody around, is one of motoring's true joys. In the first of a new series for PistonHeads, Dan Prosser takes the AMG SLS Black Series - the final carrier of that glorious 6.2 V8, and perhaps the best - to Beachy Head for a reminder of what makes both so special.

This is the pinnacle of driving purity, the beauty of naturally aspirated engine that the contemporary turbocharged can never imitate. As a Londoner who reside by the boundary of Herts, I wake up to my coffee and I am off for a drive in my E86 Z4M. Whilst I am not anywhere the black series level, as an under Dog, I can still appreciate the beauty of driving. Brilliant content!

Corvette C6 Z06, a very underrated car in Europe. Especially the 2011 to 2013 model years that came with the ultra rare Z07 ultimate performance package. Also a car with an all time great engine. Nice review on the SLS BS, for sure an absolute legend.

Glad PistonHeads is back on the ball with KZbin, it's about time. Great car this SLS Black Series, just not sure I'd have it over the standard car.If it had a manual gearbox, it would have been timeless but as its stands, I think it makes a better GT just due to its size. Would love love to see a revisit a Lexus LFA, or any manual gearbox Fezza. Thanks Pistonheads!

Easily one of the most gorgeous cars of all time. Add to that an incredible engine note and the only thing I could think of that would make it the best would be a manual gearbox. 2 out of 3 isn't bad. How sad that all we will ever get from Mercedes is some hybrid or soul less EV. Only car I personally find more desirable is the McLaren F1 or a modern Mustand Shelby GT350R

The driving roads to the east of that road are far better ;) B2068 has to be the fastest B road in the whole of the UK. Then there are the roads between Hythe and Rye . More than one PH car has bit the dust there....

It is getting bloody hard to enjoy driving in the UK. The quality of most roads is shit, a lot of them are covered with average speed cameras, the ones that aren't you have to be constantly worried about mobile speed cameras at the risk of losing your license, the roads are packed...
