I can tell by some of the comments saying it's still too loose that they don't understand the geometry of the swing arm's movement and how the chain will tighten when the suspension is compressed. Sure- go ahead and make it tighter and stretch the chain, wear out your sprockets and damage the output shaft bearing.

my mate put my chain back on recently and left my tensioners loose and told me to try it, next thing the chain comes off and cracks my engine including completely wrecking my crankshaft had to buy a new 125 engine because I had no clue or no one to turn to help me fix it. ALWAYS make sure these tensioners and tight and fit properly with no movement and check after and before EVERY ride!

Hey, brilliant vid, my bike has an issue when accelerating up hill it jerks if you like. Thought it could be the sprockets but there only a couple of months old? Will tightening the chain help? Thanks again.
@motomachinezuk87863 жыл бұрын
Could be yes chain should always be correct tension. Sprockets could be worn can but I doubt it. Maybe rear sprocket is loose 🤔.

Hmmmm I cleaned it all out and degrease it. It had a ton of grease on it and still kinda does? It's reduced but not fixed the problem. Tension was pretty good like yours. The rear brake is causing some resistance but it seems to be more the chain that vibrates????

Wrenching tip a lot of people don’t know of grasp easily.... But I learned tearing down power transformers. When wrenching , flip the wrench over in the hand each time you perform a turn movement, the angle of a wrench is perfectly setup so that you can make the same degree of movement and if you flip the wrench over in your hand the wrench teeth align perfectly with the nut. This lets you eventually go very fast. This is becaus your not having to adjust the angle of the wrench to fit it on the nut, just flip the wrench over and you’ll see it slides right on . Also good for wrenching when you can’t see the nut.

Sometimes when i get to 4th gear in my bike (Apollo RXF, YX140 Motor) it kind of go blank for a second, kind of as if it was in neutral or as if the clutch was slipping (it doesn't slip at all when its actually in gear). Is it possible the chain is skipping? Only happens in 4th gear, rarely. Checked tension today and it seemed a bit loose, will adjust tomorrow

@motomachinezuk8786 Жыл бұрын
Geometry. It will tighten up when compressed. That's why slack is needed. But not too much that that it falls off sitting on it. Because gearbox is separate from the swing arm. Hope this helps
