I rescue dogs and my pit bull/pit bull mixes have always been at the top when it comes to love and affection. Just be prepared to struggle to hold in your anger at the millions of people shouting at the top of their lungs to have pit bulls banned and killed. It is the humans and owners that need to be killed, not the dogs. We expect so much out of dogs, especially the powerful breeds, even though most dog owners don't properly train or give them enough exercise/attention. Humans are the most self centered creation the Universe has ever produced, I am sure of that.

When he learned that he could trust us he stopped. Once when we caught him peeing on the wall we rushed over to make him stop. He stopped immediately, but he cowered from us and cried. I think that one thing needs to be made clear. This dog is NOT an American Pit Bull. There are a lot of different Bully/Bulldog breeds and mixes that people call Pit Bulls out there, but they are not American Pit Bulls. Some breeds people call Pit Bulls are breeds like American Staffordshires, American Bulldogs, Staffordshire Bulls, Bull Terriers, Dogo Argentinos, Presa Canarios, American Bullies, etc. But people should learn that just because a dog is called a Pit Bull doesn't make them all the same breed. Before some people look at something like this American Bully or American Bandogge and think it's an American Pit Bull..they need to go watch something like "Jumping Dogs: Champion Pit Bull Can Leap Up Four Metre Walls" and see what an American Pit Bull looks like, can do, and is all about. This dog is much too big, heavy, bulky, and slow to be an American Pit Bull. American Pit Bulls are medium-sized dogs and are not just about power. The American Pit Bull is lean, longer-legged, tight-skinned, and very compact. It is not buff, short-legged, loose-skinned, or slow. American Pit Bulls can run fast and jump high and have the build for the stamina it needs to keep that up. American Pit Bulls are hardy working dogs that were bred to be all-around farm dogs working the farm as cattle/hog dogs to control, catch, drive, and hunt animals both big (wild pigs, deer, bear, etc.) and small (raccoons, badgers, bobcats, etc.). They need that speed, energy, and stamina as much as they need their strength. I am going to post links to facts on the breed so people can read and learn more under my comment.

Oh, that guy is love at first sight! I so understand what they mean about not being able to get more than a few feet before someone else wants to meet Hulk. My first service dog was considered in the Giant dog size category and she was an Am Staff Terrier mix. I was somewhat scared at first that people would pick on her as my service dog for being a "pit bull type" dog, but then I was so happy because it was the same reaction - everyone wanted to meet her, ask questions, pet her, and all talked about her soft, beautiful eyes and nice facial expression. I was so relieved, because she had always been such a love to me, loyal, obedient, smart, and tender in all she did. Then, I went in the opposite direction with my second service dog - Phoebe (shown in my avatar) a little Staffordshire Bull Terrier, she's still big to most people, but about half the size of Bekah, my first service dog. However, she's no less adorable and no less hard working. If not for Phoebe and her love and dedication these past 3 years as I suffered from blackouts, I wouldn't be able to live independently right now. And, I'm very proud of both the girls for being wonderful canine, and especially pit bull, ambassadors! I laugh at Phoebe because she's the social butterfly and I tell her she's got more fans in our town and the surrounding towns than I can keep track of!

Mine was not close to this size but he was the most tolerant and loving dog ever. He helped raise 3 puppies, 2 kittens and 2 children. I had to put him to sleep. His ashes are in my 6 yr old daughters room just so she will sleep in her own bed. She still cries for him. As long as he was in the back yard with my children I was in no fear. he would have given his life for them.

Pits are not this size. This behemoth are mixed with mastiffs. The problem with breeders now is to breed oversized dogs. They equate size with strength and ferocity. Sad indeed. The reverse holds true. True pits are slim, athletic, high drive, brave and tough to the core. True pit spirit is lost.

This is a great ambassador for large dogs, yes. For Pit Bulls? No. This is not a true/pure Pit Bull - American Pit Bull Terrier. This dog clearly was bred with a mixture of mastiff and other large dog breeds. The Pit Bull breed is a MEDIUM sized breed, and should be around 30-50 pounds. Not to mention, making this dog an ambassador supports breeding, which results in neglect, dog fighting, etc. A far better ambassador would be any one of the numerous service/assistance Pit Bulls out there, rescued dogs, etc.

Amen sister preach it. Most folks have to ask what kind of dog my pure bred apbt is. At 51 lbs full grown, he should trim down to 48lbs now that spring is here and he gets more run time. His head is proportionate to his slim muscular body with no wrinkes anywhere except on top of his forehead depending on his emotion. And also is the most loving creature on the planet who adores children and will sit for hours and let my grandaughter try different easter dresses on him along with hair bows and necklaces. Despite that he definitely seems well cared for, apart from being quite overweight and prone to multiple health problems due to his size...

These breeders are despicable, look on their website...they are advertising a "upcoming litter" between Hulk and HIS GRANDMOTHER. Inbreeding any dog causes issues, but with a breed that has a tendency towards aggression like Pit Bulls it spells disaster. This man also teaches his dogs to bite people, not in the way police dogs are trained to go for the arm/leg to take them down but trained to snap at anyone who makes a sudden movement near the owner. They even wear vests out in public saying "Do not pet". These are NOT family dogs or pets, they were bred to be weapons by this man and highly unpredictable ones. Stay away!

That dog looked chill to me but I know how you feel. I have a 175+ and a 215+lbs St.Bernard's pure breed. But the difference between his and mine is the fact my dogs were bread as family pets. The became guard dogs on love and don't let anyone new around.(unless it's a girl I've fucked?)

The dog is not obese, it's just really big. No one here seems to know what obesity in dogs actually looks like. Yes, the dog is heavy, but I don't see any rolls of fat or jiggle on this dog. There is no hanging belly and actually has a pronounced abdominal tuck. Unless you are a vet, I don't think one has the right to out the dog as obese. It's had a large head because it is a large dog. It's a BIG dog, that simple.
