I genuinely do not understand why this sort of thing is accepted as "part of the game". There is absolutely no reason for both teams' entire benches and bullpens to come rushing out onto the field, and then just spend the next few minutes in a big bunch jawing at and occasionally shoving each other. It's unnecessary, juvenile, and completely pointless. Frankly, the MLB should just implement a blanket rule which states that no player who is not actually *in* the game (i.e. the 9 defensive players, the batter, the player on deck, and any baserunners) is allowed to come out onto the field. Period. Anyone who does, like everyone in this situation, is immediately fined. If they keep doing it, fine them more. Maybe even institute automatic ejections for managers if they fail to keep their teams in the dugout. This isn't like hard hits in football; nothing about having entire teams run out onto the field is any part of the actual game of baseball, and this should not be tolerated.
