Can they get sick of it.. sure.. and with balls/strikes.. the players and coaches are in explicit violation of the rules.. Nah, like football, arrogant ass umpires are ruining sports. As time goes on they think they are the most important people on the field. @@rickallen1908 Nah, you're wrong, and with staggering precision.....the DH, lowering the mound back in 69, the Posey rule, the Utley rule, replay, electronic strike zone, no extra innings to the game is over, pitchers (this year) have to look the batter in the eyes before he throws a pitch, infielders can't block the bag on a steal, or throw in, etc.....the owners make these rules to protect their assets, which, has watered down the game to unwatchable....oh, and female umpires.....umpires, have always been "bad", it's just that today, they are under the microscope with 100's of cameras, and angles, scrutinized 24/7......they were just as bad back in the day, we just didn't see it as often.....and was an unspoken rule, not to criticize them, kinda like JFK, and his women, medical condition(s), etc......all the reporters knew, but never said it a word (unspoken rule)......don't believe me, look it up....and, enjoy watching this saccharine iteration of a once great, great sport.....it's garbage......you probably enjoy the HR derby at the all-sham game, amiwrite??

@@tedsilversyeager840 I started T ball when JFK was president. I agree about alot of the new rules being BS. I don't like the pitch clock for one. It might shave 3 minutes off the game time. I go to a game, it's to relax and have fun, not worry how long the pitcher takes. The inordinate amount of money being paid is why we're seeing the pussification of pro sports. The reason I want balls, and strikes called electronically is I'm tired of plate umpires thinking people are paying to watch them. Home run derby? Is that played in Kentucky too??

There needs to be more of a balance of power with these out of control umpires. An umpire should be able to be removed by MLB for blatant unprofessional, out of control behavior in real time. If calls can be reviewed and overturned by MLB officials in the Replay Command Center in NY, then appealing ejections, removing umpires for unprofessional conduct should also come under their purview, and authority. These umpires act this way because there is no checks and balance on their behavior. And, there should be at least one standby umpire at every MLB game if an umpire needs to be removed.

Keeps the league fines to a minimum. Automatic fine for getting tossed, even in the minors. Aggravate the situation & the fines rack up. I was an Athletic Trainer in the Dodgers org, A level. We were tied for the division title. Last day of the season, we'd been at the Tigers for our last series, plus a makeup of a previous rain out. The last day, it rained real hard & the Tigers would cause us to lose the title by not playing, (we'd beat them up all season.). The ground crew was slow walking the drying process, so the mgr, coach & I went out to help & speed things up so tje game wouldn't get called. On the field, I could see our GM sitting w/ the Tigers GM, laughing & chatting him up. Our mgr grumbled about it, said too bad he couldn't go in the stands & shake the little chit, (uniform in the stands is a big no no.) I laughed & said, you can't, but I can. Trainers are technically on field uniform personel, but can get away w/ it, cause our uniform is closer to reg clothes. I went up to the box & told our GM to get his thumb out of his azz & come help us; you don't get to be 'part of the team', (something he liked to throw around), unless you get your hands dirty once in a while. Players can't help the ground crew, or the entire team would have been out there But, we could.... baseball is full of rules like that. I didn't get tossed from the game that night, but I got fined by the Florida State League and by the National League, (we all signed NL player contracts as our employment contracts.) The skipper & pitching coach paid my fines. Now, that's being a team; they loved me telling the GM off. Oh, yeah, we got the game played & won the division, then lost the 1 game playoff.
