Awesome! Hope you enjoy and have a safe cruise! We've also heard good things about Petoskey across the bay, so if you have time it might be worth a stop (if you haven't already).

I wish you could've experienced the 5 mile Mighty Mac Bridge Walk. I've done it twice, and it was amazing. I love walking on the open grate portion of the bridge where you are 200-feet above water (walking on open grate is optional). If you have the chance to be back up there on a Labor Day, I *highly* recommended doing the Walk. I hear wonderful things about Charlevoix, and your video displays that it's a must-stop destination! Cheers! 🥂🍻

Yea, we were a bit disappointed we couldn't walk it as well, but our lives were ruled by the weather! We will have to come back and experience it!

We had wanted to stop by Charlevoix a couple years back, but weren't able to, so it was great to see it through y'alls eyes! SO STOKED y'all saw the northern lights. Truly one of the most magical experiences of our lives. Hopefully we can experience it together someday 💜💚

I plan on doing the Great Loop in a couple of years. In the meantime, I'm trying to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. I always see the books on your shelf behind your settee and would love to know which materials you keep up there. Thanks for letting me visualize my dream through your videos.

That was very cool that you got underway in the Dark Thirty hours. In my days in the US Coast Guard, my ships often left port under cover of darkness either around midnight or the time frame you went under the Big Mac. It was so cool seeing it at that time. When I do the Loop, my plan will be pretty much to hit all of the towns along that side of Michigan with Grand Haven a must stop to take part in the huge celebration they put on for my former service each year on the anniversary date of the founding of the service back in August 1790. Saguatuck being another town that's a must. Charlevoix is an amazing place. Gonna have to see if they list the size of the lake beyond the harbor. When it comes to Coast Guard Cutters getting underway at night as they do, it's a matter of security and minimizing showing vessel movements. Nice video.

I did alot of night cruising in Georgian Bay. But we know the water. If we went out just for weekends and didn't want to come back to the marina in the Sunday evening boat traffic. Hundreds of boats trying to get in the marinas at the same time. Most of those people were from Toronto and we nic named them citidiots. Believe me, Chinese fire drills looked organized compared to them. We lived a few miles from our marina in Midland Ontario and didn't have a two hour drive home. Night cruising is a whole different experience. Caution is the major concern, but some of the starry skies and northern lights are something you you'll never forget. Especially when they are in colors.

I enjoy night cruising quite a bit. It is strange how your other senses overcompensate at night though 😁
@mikepech6822 Жыл бұрын
@@SchoandJo That's true. Especially in Georgian bay. But I knew the water well and where the markers were which shined with reflective material when hit with the lights. Also the range markers in longer unmarked distances. But your right, other senses to come into play.

Dad's friend had 38 ft MarineTrader. Guess you got as tired as we did of the bell/buzz whatever it is when you shut engine off. You use to play a several more seconds of it, and I'm like just turn the darn key to OFF!!!! Heard comments help as much as likes for algorithm so that's what I got. Except Ollie a SUPERSTAR!!

Cruising at night (early morning) would be very scary for me - the fear of not seeing what I might hit... Enjoyed the part where Ollie plays & jumps around. Good luck crossing Lake Michigan to Chicago.
