I listened to this album obsessively last summer in my cleaning job, crawling in monochromatic hallways with a mop, scrubbing bathrooms tile by tile

I love that they keep upping the level of shoegaze in their music. The contrast between Alec's noise and Molly's wonderful voice is a beautiful thing.

Just saw this band play in Perth and honestly, I didn't know how exceptional they were before I walked in and heard most of these songs for the first time. They are extremely tight and on point live, and some of the tracks off Blue Rev are exactly in the slot ... the song "Pressed" is the closest imitation of the Smiths' earlier more folk-influenced songwriting I've ever heard, and it's a pretty packed field. Superb band

Nice. The Blue Rev material sounds much better live because to me the album has atrocious mastering/compression on it (overzealous production, perhaps), which is a shame as I enjoyed the sound of their previous LP's. 🙂

In all the live videos I've seen online of them they do seem to lack a bit of energy. However, when I saw them live this past summer, it was completely different. It's sort of like when they know they're going to be recorded they try a little harder to sound "good." They ended the set I saw with this song and played it much quicker back then.
