Rangers being Rangers, we probably will get beat at Ibrox next week having almost won it at Lisbon! Probably Benfica will be so desperate to win and save face that they will bribe the refs like Marceille did against us years ago when Mark Hately was red carded for doing nothing more than shrugging off a serious assault. The penalty last night clearly hit John's head first before his hand. If i can see that on my phone from a 100 miles away from the incident then how can the expensive var equipment and proffesional refs not see it? The rules are clear: It's not a penalty if you play it onto your own hand, exactly like what happened here, so it's simply not a penalty. Robbed again!

Rangers fan here. Portugal is such a great country with great people. Portugese football fans are proper fans, passionate about their teams and not to my knowledge known for causing trouble, just all about the football for them. Total respect for them.

Love it when football hooligans “fight for the honour” of their club… their board, their players don’t give a flying fudge. It’s uncalled for and pathetic regardless of your team. Spectators exceeding their self entities remit. Go look at yourself in the mirror and concentrate on enjoying any euro adventure without the bs stories of given a 2 fixture rival a booting. Takes away from the achievement of the club.

Great stuff as ever Sam, Lisbon a fantastic place to watch football, managed 15 games in 10 days on my last trip in January. Benfica a special ground and have been there 3 times, always an honour to see the Eagle doing the lap of the ground pre kick off. Keep up the good work

Another really enjoyable vlog, good work. I was at the match following Rangers, on reflection 2-2 is a cracking result to take back to Ibrox. Enjoyed the stadium experience and the usual very hospitable welcome from the Portuguese, it’s one of my favourite countries for a European away trip and Benfica is a “proper” club. The only downside this time was the biblical rain after the match!

I mysef am a Benfica and Rangers supporter as well. I'm a Rangers supporter since I was a child (1985/6) when some Scotish were staying at the same Algarve's hotel as my family, they offered me and my brother a Ranger's shirts with that old sponcer McEwan's Lager. That shirt was lost in time (35 year ago) but my simpathy for Rangers are still present. I've also worked in Edinbrugh in 2015 to 2016, and a few weeks in Peterhead in 2015. FORÇA BENFICA...FORÇA RANGERS :)

Great video, you deserve all the success. Good result for Rangers especially with how stretched the squad is with injuries. Have kept the tie alive and that’s what we hoped for, 50/50 at Ibrox now. Liverpool are huge favourites to win this and some seriously strong teams left, Roma, West Ham, Marseille, AC Milan, Leverkusen. Getting into the quarter finals for Rangers would be a big success and we won’t fear anyone in the draw, however it’s a huge ask to beat any of those sides.
