No one outside of England rates Ashley Cole as the best LB. He like John Terry played in a defensive system under Mourinho which enhanced defensive qualities. Roberto Carlos is the obvious best LB in terms of revolutionizing the full back role & him being so amazing in attack in terms of passing, crossing, shooting but also pure speed, so sound defensively. Marcelo is a close 2nd for me because he was a nr.10 Ronaldinho type of full back. Rio is hardly rated outside of the EPL as top 10 CB. Terry might barely make it. Edit: "If Roberto Carlos had more to his game"... what? Ashley Cole had more to his game than Roberto Carlos? Have you seen his goals, assists?

Napoli never had won the league in the past but under the new Honorship, they were started building a team from 1984 with likes of Ciro Ferrara, Salvatore Bagni, Fernando De Napoli. And in that year, they brought maradona at a world record fee of 12 million(brenford, sevilla or any mid team can't break world record fees unless there is take over by billionares) from Barcelona who bought him at 9 million which was world record too.its like when city, psg were taken by richer board, they tried to build a competitive team by buying players and make a good team to gradually compete and win the league, the only difference with napoli was they get financially ruined after 1994 and all the clubs good players which I named earlier departed by 1994 and they couldn't sustain this and get relegated to seria b.
