A little bit of Final Fantasy lore: In the older FF titles sometimes summoner depicted as having horn on their forehead, or at least using horn-like accessories. Some lore says that summoner communicate with summon entity through their horn. Biran comment about Yuna statue with grand horn was a nod to those older FF titles 😁

Chat every time a big story event or fight comes up “when’s the last time you saved?” “You should definitely go this way.” Before the cutscene even starts “this is the best scene in the game”. “Oh my gosh I love this next part”. People think they’re slick with the spoilers. It’s so blatantly obvious. This is the kind of stuff some streamers deal with that makes them stop streaming certain games.

I agree, I think story-heavy and lore-heavy games are best played off-stream and uploaded as videos, like Kastaclysm did exactly for that reason. I much prefer backseating at this point.

I totally agree with this. I would love for her next FF game to be a pre record. Most of the chat is either masked spoilers or try hard comedian wanna-bes. However, as for streaming content, at least she doesn't spend half the time talking while not playing. I have also noticed she is smart enough to know when to ignore chat.

Okay but spending less than an hour on Seymour is actually quite good. This is a boss that can be a run ending boss fight, with his 2x full party wipe mechanics and Zombie attacks.. Some people get completely stuck there. You had the right idea. There are a few different strategies. Would love to see you take him on again like you mentioned. Definitely one of the hardest main story fights. Congratz on besting him. Would love if you rewatched that fayth 'dream' scene again to try to understand it better, and tell us what you are actually thinking is happening. Can't wait to see more.

1:09:59 Little lore about Wantz and O'aka. The reason why O'aka helps Yuna so much, besides being a traveling merchant, is that they had a sister who has passed away. If you go to the Farplane in Guadosalem before completing The Thunder Plains, you'll see Wantz talking to his sister.

Loved the Seymour fights! you pushed through and gave Seymour flux a good beating! You were wondering how could you run that different so imma drop some strats without any spoilers. 1. Silence and poison Seymour. Silence will prevent him from casting dispel and poison will steadily drain his HP. You could silence attack/buster with Wakka and Bio with Lulu. Or my favorite buy that Wakka's double penalty which has both poison touch and silencetouch. Then buff till your hearts content. 2. You can buy holy waters and costumize zombieward on your armor. Seymour will be trying to full life us all day. 3. Rikku can be your best healer! She is fast and can use broken items. Buy that alchemy weapon from Wantz (Alchemy doubles the potency of healing items). Now your al bhed potions heal 2000 HP! cheap mega potions ;), Rikku could also double the HP of characters if youve stolen key items. 4. x5 cheers and protect plus defending with Triangle. Make seymour attacks deal so little damage is laughable.

For the record, Seymour Flux was featured in a gaming magazine back in 2011 as one of the top ten most difficult bosses of the decade from 2000-2010. As much as I hated him, I was proud to see it.

Heyhey, great to see another FFX video! 21:00 A silly bit of info about the sped up or slowed down English voice-over is that for some reason they had to fit the voice clips for exactly the same timeframe as the original Japanese voice-over. From what I remember it had something to do with the animations being done first with the Japanese voice-over in mind and then they didn't have budget for re-doing cutscene animations for the English voices. A lot of those sped up or slowed down moments are only really noticeable if you're paying attention to it, but withyunabymyside is super obvious haha. Third Seymour fight is I think one of the biggest rude awakenings in this game. I remember wondering how a true turn based game that lets you grind could ever be challenging, and this game multiple times answered that question

It bothers me how prone people are to just assuming the worst about Tidus. For example, when he "wakes up" after learning he's a dream of the fayth and immediately pushes it away, people in the comments are essentially treating him like he's stupid. Honestly, what a shitty reading of the character. It's more likely two things: 1) denial and confusion about what this means, how he feels about it, implications, etc. and 2) not wanting to put this emotional burden on Yuna, who is already carrying so much as it is. This is a really lovely detail about Tidus and highlights his character growth. These are the examples of details I'd love to see fleshed out more if this game were to ever be remade.

@@jasonh6207I’m getting real tired of reading comments saying people who think the Laughing Scene is cringe are wrong. There are three sides to this complicated coin. A: it makes no sense and is awkward, especially when you don’t know the context or reason for it so early in the game. B: The side you’re on, where you know the meaning behind and can appreciate why it is the way it is. Yuna wants her journey to be full of laughter because she is a sweet and caring person, and this journey may be her last across this pain-ridden world. She wants to set an example and be the light that Spira needs when she is gone. C: The side I’m on, where you acknowledge like many things in life this situation is neither black nor white, you know there is a wholesome reasoning behind it because you’ve played the game through ‘til the end, but honestly the scene is difficult to listen to, full stop. Even knowing the reasoning behind it all, and even on the upteenth playthrough, I laugh off the stress and twitch in awkward ways as if it was the first time. You see, it’s not a battle of who’s right and who’s wrong. Both sides of the coin are equally right and wrong. The truth is somewhere in between, much like many things in life. Props to the creators for making something realistic but in a way that’s still part of a cool game. You may have your opinion that it’s not cringey, but it is for some, and their opinion is just as valid as yours.

Oh god. Seymour Flux. Yeah that's a VERY challenging boss fight. No shame in the struggle with that one; that fight is just plain brutal. Good job getting through that one. Not much further to go in terms of the main stuff, but obviously the side stuff is worth your while too, when the time comes. Soon. This game's soundtrack is so good btw.

It helps if you understand what fayths and summons are : a fayth is someone who trapped themselves in stone and is dreaming about something, and a summoner who established a link with them can turn their dream into a reality. So Valefor's Fayth dreams about Valefor, and Yuna can make it appear in the real world. Now the many Zanarkand Fayth decided to dream of their city and denizens, and someone is giving them physical shape. Then, both Jecht and Tidus went into contact with Sin and became more than dreams, more humans... So Jecht and Tidus both were summons, and it's even hinted at at the start of the game : what can you rename in this game? Summons. And you can rename Tidus at the very start...

Everyone was saying this boss was hard, and I’m so confused bevause 12 year old me just steamrolled Seymour by spamming aeons with full overdrives at him. The hardest part of the game for me was the Bikanel Island segment, because I had gotten so used to just letting Yuna and her aeons curbstomp everything. I barely knew what the other party members could even do, it was practically a Yuna solo run.

I won’t spoil specifcis for you but it’s worth trying out Rikku’s overdrive if you are struggling on a boss, or even just for fun. There are so many combos and some of them are totally broken so it’s really worth experimenting and seeing which ones you can find.

You need to update your sphere grid more often, remember it does not matter how much you fight if you don't boost up your characters on the grid, specially on a particularly difficult area.

People who get angry when you try to explain to them how poker is played, for example, don't have all the lights turned on upstairs. Now... how about making you regret your choices ? Remember early on, when people suggested you to go make Kimahri learn the command Steal... Well, during this fight with Kimahri only, you could have stolen 3 to 4 Lvl3 Key Spheres (depending on how obstinate/lucky you'd have been about stealing) from each of the two ronsos, for like 6-8 in total. Though... don't take it personally... for our first run, most of us didn't knew, and we still succeeded in making it without them. But if you ever plan to replay the game, know that it really helps having Kimahri being able to steal, especially early on, before you get Rikku, you could steal helpful items for customizing your weapons/armors on elemental fiends.

Kimahri can go so many ways (maybe not Black Magic *ahem*), it's totally fine to not have Steal on him. Besides, most of the items you can steal early game don't really make a big difference anyways. Customizing really shines during end game.

But it still could be of a little help, like if you have weapons with an elemental strike, and an empty slot (or multiple), so you can customize the opposite elemental strike, so you won't by mistake deal 0 dmg (or worse heal) a fiend cause you forget what element you have on your weapon. And on later playthrough, I always found very useful to be able to steal those Lvl3 key spheres on Biran and Yenke, as it's generally around that point that I start to need them.

Between the constant hand holding tutorials, yellow paint everywhere ruining not only the immersion but also the sense of exploration, along with the fact they kept moving the goal post over and over. After about the 3rd time being told "Your princess is in another castle" I couldn't stomach it anymore. Idk if any of this applies to the sequel but my complaints of the original are in no way because of "woke" nor do I care if its in media I consume. That opening scene was fire though.

They scale with kimarhi so if you don't level him up at all the battle is actually really easy.

For an easy Seymour battle, go in with all of your Aeons having a full Overdrive bar. Same with your party members. The Aeons will do around 9999 (if not more depending on if you’ve broken the damage limit for specific Aeons). Shouldn’t take more than 10-minutes and it saves some stress.
