Thank you SO MUCH for giving Pittie a chance to get used to her surroundings and the family. I know people that gave their new dog just a day to get used to their new surroundings and people they haven't met before. Lucky for Cooper, I offered to take him in. At first, he chewed things that he shouldn't, but hey, I needed a new bedroom suite anyway. That was 7 years ago, and he's the best thing that has happened to me in a long, long time.

Shes much bigger than the typical bully. Shes an XXl bully the super big head and body and markings. This backyard breeder was only thinking 💰💰 when irresponsibly breeding these dogs. However im glad it worked out and she found a great home.

Oh her poor ears.... She's just beautiful!!! What a good girl!!! Thank you for being wonderful, initially, foster pawrents, and now her furever pawrents.... And yes getting people to understand a dog should not be chosen on just looks alone... And people don't need to buy a dog.... Go adopt one, from a specific breed rescue, and there are many of them. To just the local shelter or the Humane Society (which is not funded by the government, and don't euthanize for space unlike shelters).... There are so many wonderful dogs in shelters and Humane Societies across the country, there is no need to buy a dog.... And by adopting you are saving at the very minimum, 2 lives...

What irritates me about them being used to fight, is a lot of people fail to realize they are abused into doing so. They are a victim, and deserve to be treated with compassion. Any human willing to do that to a dog just for the money dog fighting brings, is a sick individual. And any breed, any dog can cause harm. The people who fight them deserve our condemnation, the dog does not because the dog had ZERO choice in the matter. Doesn't matter the dog, they need boundaries, training, a leader, a loving home etc etc etc, just like a child does.

I have had many pibbles just like this. Never saw stairs, tv, ceiling fan. All were afraid. Letting them adjust slowly and decompressing and giving them LOVE works wonders. They are such social and spiritual creatures. I wish more people would give them a chance.

It’s so important for pit bulls (and any big and powerful dogs) to be raised with love and training. My daughter was in her own back yard with another kind neighbor, cleaning Hurricane Helene’s mess. A man came sauntering in and when she asked what she could do for him, he said his dog had run into her house! (Through the back porch door and where my ten year old grand daughter was). Ash immediately placed where she remembered the man and his dog! She instantly grabbed her little 14 lb Maltipoo into her arms. The pit bull had gone room to room, looking for little Teddy, who he had bitten a year prior. He locked eyes with Teddy and began lunging and trying to get behind my daughter to get to Teddy. He bit her breast, and multiple times he gouged her hand. She was turning and turning, pushing the pit bull away and kicking with the leg she wasn’t standing on. Her had was covered with blood and that when she realized no one was coming to help her. She began screaming for help at the top of her lungs. The neighbor who had been helping was coming back from her own home with a chain saw. She had left her 14 year old son in the yard. The neighbor began running to help my daughter. She yelled in an authoritative voice, which distracted the dog long enough for her to scream for her daughter to get inside as she began running to the porch door, as well. The dog’s owner had a friend pick up the dog before police and animal control got there. He was not sorry at all, and in fact lied multiple times, even insinuating that little Teddy had caused her wounds. It’s been an awful experience. She and our grandaughter couldn’t sleep the first week. The scene kept replaying in their heads. The dog was deemed a safe dog and is alive and well with his owner. My daughter is having to go to civil court to cover the medical bills and single mom who teaches school can’t afford. I hope justice is served. We love pit bulls. But because they are so powerful, they do take an owner who can raise them correctly.

We adore our rescue pittie he was wandering the streets and emaciated. He was friendly when we got him from the shelter. He was being treated for heart worms. We were told he was a boxer, being a senior couple who have owned many dogs over our 46 years of marriage we knew he wasn't. Now he plays with toys and is unbelievably lovable. I've been frightened of big dogs since a childhood incident. If a big dog went past my house while I was outside, I'd rush inside until it was put of sight - even when I was in my 60s! A neighbour has a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I was always frightened until my neighbour had a stay in hospital. Then, the people looking after the dog told me that she wasn't eating, that she kept whining, and so on. It took all my courage to go round to see if I could do anything. When I got there, she came straight to me, tail wagging. I sat down, and she was in my lap. I fed her and fussed her, but more importantly, my fear of Staffies dissolved. Pitties are an illegal dog here, but I'm sure that the majority are friendly like this one. It is a shame that people are frightened of dogs just because of their breed - and I'm criticising myself as well. There are probably many dogs out there that people think of as non-scary that are worse than the average Pittie or Staffie.

I had to comment. Thank you for giving her a home, she is repaying you with love. In the UK where I live we have Staffordshire Bull terriers, smaller versions of Pit Bulls. Pit Bulls come from Staffies. A lot of people's experience of a Pittie is that of a loving, emotional sweet natured pup. It is my experience of them. A lot of us don't need to look tough and want a dog who looks like that because they know they're the most loving dogs. Fifty percent athlete, fifty percent couch potato!
