Pitts Special Maiden Flights

The video is of the first three flights I made this morning. This plane was delivered to my home two days ago. I put it together and did several modifications that were suggested by Adam at Model AV8R. Those included using a CG of 125mm back from the leading edge instead of the 165 mm the owner's manual suggests. I also glued a foam block to the bottom of the canopy hatch to keep the battery from sliding back. I used the set up numbers listed in the video for my control surfaces. Nice and safe maiden flights. Despite the FMS Pitts being very squirrely and bouncy on hard surfaces you did quite well. I just this morning finished assembly of mine. It has no battery or radio equipment in it because they are not needed to hang inverted on my living room ceiling. After many years flying RC gas planes including a Byron Pitts, 2 Eagles, and a custom built Weeks all on 4.2 Sachs, I finally re-kitted every plane I had and drank a final toast to the costly memories. This Boomer will get all the joy of viewing this beautiful, bright red and white Pitts S2 hangar queen for the rest of my life right where it is. Thanks for my vicarious maiden flight lol.

Bi planes are the best and have given me the hardest to fly but that is a awesome looking bird!! Nice!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
