I'm a Pittsburgh Dad too. I loved taking my kids to the drive-in, I called them 'the entry fee' , because I wanted to watch the movies and couldn't do it without them. They never watched the movies anyway. Back and forth to the concession stand, hanging out with their friends, eating, drinking, wrecking the car, laying on blankets, etc. My grand kids are just getting to the age where I can take them now so, life is good!

Went to see Butch Cassidy & The Sun Dance Kid back in the 70's with my dad. He had a couple too may Iron City's and when we went to pull aut, he forgot to take the cast iron speaker out of the window of the LTD. Surprisingly window didn't break. Cord did. When we left the gate, Dad just handed to the attendant who simply replied..."Happens all the time."

We had two drive ins in my town in FL, but both are long gone..I remember hooking the speaker to the car window and also the burning coil of mosquito repellent. And Service Merchandise.. that was before Walmart took over!!
