Think how the cities would look if we had the right kind of education... a Wall Street level business education. Buy for a nickle, sell for a dime, minimize the overhead to 3 cents...the 2 cents left over representing a 40% pre-tax return on the investment of the original nickel...increase the velocity, fast turnover...then you could afford to buy property and dress it up and charge rent for it, or just put it on the market for sale. The property wouldn't sit idle long enough to rot. We'd run out of properties and have to expand...invade other neighborhoods economically like they do in Israel.

Pittsburgh was once a great looking city and now the blighted neighborhoods, garbage and abandoned houses that need torn down are a fixture in these hoods. The people that are responsible for doing something about this doesn't care, they want afro americans to live in poverty while they build the parts of the city to make people from out of town move here, but they don't see the real Pittsburgh until they live here for a while or something bad happens to them. Pittsburgh was always a beautiful city, when they took away the projects, and people were spread all over they didn't foresee people moving away and giving up their businesses and their homes to leave or relocate leaving the used to be prominent neighborhoods to be neglected so that crime and poverty would prevail. Pittsburgh, do better!

They are not falling apart; they are being destroyed. Neighborhoods that used to be vibrant with kids playing in the streets are silent now. No A/C back then so on summer nights people sat on their porches and listened to Bob Prince, the Voice of the Bucs" convey every swing of Pirates baseball. Everyone yelled across the street or next door in conversation. What's different now? Not so many families, not so many kids. It's not an ethnicity problem. It's the end result of Leftist failed government policies. And we just voted for more of the same. Orémus Y'all.

Part of what makes parts of Pittsburgh so unattractive is that at some point they went out of their way to make the houses as ugly as possible. That shitty vinyl awning thing on the windows and the nastiest fake brick (asbestos?) siding ever invented. Wouldn't look half as forlorn with some clean aluminum siding and a touch of TLC.

I am a life long Pittsburgh’r, for another two years. Then relocating to Florida. This ride is typical of the city, I refer to it as Shitsburgh, can’t wait to leave this place. I’ve traveled all over this country and there are many places like this. Mostly in the old rust belt region. The mind set of the people and elected officials are Neanderthal here.

Do note that Democrats are in complete control of the local government in Pittsburgh. Just like Detroit, Baltimore, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and every other urban shithole in America.

One common factor in these poorer parts of anytime, it drives me nuts when I see that drivers park on either the wrong side of the street or they never took a learners permit to drive. That is why the city need's to have police ticket the cars. Revenue goes up and roads can get fixed. Habitat for Humanity truly fixes neighborhoods like these. Revitalization is what they call it. The houses are old and very large, it could be a Historic community if everyone helped to do Community Service by cleaning up the trash and volunteering.
@titsmagee4469 Жыл бұрын
Then the houses are destroyed again in a few years..... I'm only 30 and have seen the city do 2 rounds of mass demos and rebuilds. It's only ever done on decently traveled roads so the citizens don't have to see decay and then they're destroyed again in a few years because there's no respect

In addition to what I saw on Part 1. This second part has some serious neglect on the part of the city fathers. Horrible old roads, no curbs and no sidewalks can be found all over the place. Some owners have junk in their front yards which are a fire hazard. Unimproved spaces are not maintained. All roads should be concrete asphalt roads. Get rid of those cobblestone roads. A place will look junkie if the roads are junkie, A few buildings are not occupied and maybe need to be reviewed for suitability. If condemned they need to be torn down. Trash found in city streets not picked up by the garbage people. I saw some nice homes right next to dumpy ones. People should take pride in their property. Not suitable in general
