The pivot scene is a classic for people. I liked it, but not as much as everyone else. You probably missed in the scene, where Phoebe is first talking to the cop and she says she works for Sipowizc, and the cop plays along, and then the cops says, yeah I head that new guy from Silver Spoons will be good too. Phoebe was bringing up the character names in the NBC police show NYPD Blues, that was a hot TV show at the time, and the cop played along until he busted her with the TV show Silver Spoons reference.

if they just held it at a 45% angle as they rotated around the stairs it would have been fine. I think the Mondler secret and it gradual revelations was so great to write episodes and moments around everything after just has to be not quite as good. but i guess it would have been too long to keep it going for longer.

One of my two favorite cases of a sofa stuck on a staircase. The other being from "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency", where they eventually prove by a computer simulation that it's impossible for the sofa to have reached the position it's now stuck in.
