200 missiles is a lot, but Iran has many, many more. The fact that the Iranians launched a strike that constitutes a fraction of their striking power, knowing full well that a limited strike would see the maximum number of intercepts by the defenses of Israel, signifies the possibility that Iran doesn't actually want all-out war with Israel. Iran can't do nothing in response to the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah. For Iran to do nothing would cost Iran credibility. However we in the West might feel about that, it would be unrealistic for us to believe that Iran wants to lose credibility. Therefore, Iran has to make a show of retaliation, just like before. We have to remain open to the possibility that Iran doesn't want a large-scale conflict with Israel. Of course, what Iran really wants is to continue to play the long game throughout the region. As long a regional conflict can be kept from boiling over any more than it already has, there is a chance for diplomacy and deal-making to save many lives. We have to remain open to this possibility.

That's not true. That is what Israel continuously claims. However, especially as of late, those who are opposing Israel are stating over and over again that they are doing so until Israel ends its genocide and apartheid state. I just wanted to clarify because this comment makes it seems like there is equal fault on both sides even though Israel is the primary aggressor and has done nothing to stop It's apartheid state and ensure that all of its civilians get the same rights across the board rather than being dependent on their ethnic or religious backgrounds. Plus, Israeli settlers are still being defended by the IDF even though they go to other people's homes and neighborhoods to terrorize them to make space for themselves. If Israel decides to go to war with Iran, the current government will fall. Iran has no military capabilities to match that of Israel and its government is very unstable at the moment. So a win for Iranians, but destabilizing a region can cause long-term problems. It would be only on Iranians to turn this opportunity into a win. Or let the government fall due to inaction like it happened in Afghanistan.
