I told a friend the day Heuermann was arrested that I knew Kerri would make herself available to help Rex's wife and children to help them go through this trauma. She has helped people to understand what the families go through, which I had always wondered about, as well as helping other families who have and are experiencing the same thing she has when finding out that a family member has a well kept secret about being a murderer. This experience is something no one would wish on anyone.

Kerri you are using your horrible experience to help many, many people. I hope you can overcome or control your PTSD. Think of the help you can share with the members of the LISK family.

OMG! This poor young woman! I’m so glad that she’s been able to heal to the degree that she has, is is open to support others forced into similar situations. People wanting to blame family members, for “having to know something”, are just in need of someone to blame. If the cops can’t resolve things for decades, how can a family who is dealing with dynamics of differing levels of dysfunction, that are often justified as in keeping with patriarchal norms. A controlling man at home, who is also a seemingly dedicated member of the community, has insulation from any complaints his family would make against him, simply because of his contribution to the community. At the time she was being raised, the terms controlling, and narcissism, were rarely seen by the general public, as abuse. The more we learn to be aware of how we feel around family, and what things aren’t acceptable forms of love/communication/relationships, the better families will get at sensing that something is off. As with victims of DV, will we have the appropriate supports in place?

I hope his wife and children can get restitution and do well. As for people saying how could they not know, look how long this guy was not caught by FBI or police. He has been doing this stuff for years and now they say he may have murders in other states like Las Vegas and South Carolina. Give this family a break people.

That’s not true but it probably depends on the type. The first person Henry Lee Lucas killed was his mother.
