I agree about the iphone 11 for dynamic range in video. It’s the reason i chose to buy it. To be fair, for some subjects the dynamic range is a little too artificial looking on textures and details, but i like being able to capture as much of what’s in the frame as possible, regardless of exposure. The latest phones from a few brands are nearly as good, but the iphone still has a slight edge

HDR is very good on the iPhone, but its also a bit too much when it comes to natural photography. The way iPhone handles warmer tones is not very pleasing and with faces it tends to cast a very red hue and flattens the highlights on the face too much. Also the noise levels are often what turn the iPhone photos too mushy. I agree the video looks great, but if you dwelve into it, the artificial stabilisation and very jumpy HDR make it quite unusable for serious camera work. Stabilisation is what ruins the video for me the most, because its obvious how much warping is in the image and how much crop is used on the sensor. Its not bad at all if you view it from the phone screen or just use it for regular image capturing, its fast and reliable, but quality is actually better on most other flagship phones.

You can actually take ultrawide photos with the pixel 4a using photosphere, it requires quite a bit of patience and I recommend doing this in landscape mode, not portrait.

Hi, just something I've noticed. Pixel phones do have an ultra-wide mode, as part of their Photo Sphere option in the camera app. If you go to more > photo sphere > swipe down > wide angle it can take pretty good wide angle shots by stitching together 9 regular shots. It's pretty good imo

So the back camera of the Pixel 4A is, for 99% of people, just as good if not better in some situations than iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S20. For the price difference that is just insanely amazing. However the selfie camera is bad, which means this phone isn’t good for people who use Snapchat and Instagram a lot, sadly.

It seems the 11 Pro activates night mode on 2x mode by using digital zoom on the main camera, instead of using the 52mm camera straight. Maybe you can try in low light by covering the 52mm camara to see if there is still image:) Also I suppose Apple gonna introduce night mode on ultra wide this year and call it an improvement which they could have done in 2019...

Hi, you have great reviews! Please tell me why reviewers, when talking about a display, never check PWM (pulse-width modulation). Today, manufacturers mainly install oled displays, which often have a high PWM, which can cause pain in the eyes and headaches for the owners of these devices. Chinese manufacturers have started to build DC DIMMING, but unfortunately Google hasn't.

Digital for digital, why nobody compare the optical ultra wide angle lens from other phones with the "wide angle panorama" function on the pixel's gcam? Why? On the pixels is possible to do ultra wide shots, they are 9 pics for 1 but because is valid the "ultra digital zoom" should be valid the "wide angle panorama" function. Avoiding that information is like to admit that with the pixel you can zoom but can't do ultra wide pics. I know is not easy like the zoom, but is still something to create the same effect.

To be honest, The Pixel maintain better quality when it comes to still photography and stabilisation. However, Pixel is not really good if you use it to take video which makes S20 and 11 Pro the Kings os video. What Google needs to add into new generation Pixel 5 is another Wide-angle lens which and 4k video with both front and rear camera.

Pixel really needs to tidy up on the video front, for the higher end line up in particular. Thyst quality is acceptable at this price but honestly embarrassing at 899, which is the Pixel 4's price.
