Thanks for this video. It was dead simple. I bought a battery on amazon and was able to do the replacement almost as fast as you, my first try. I found that I ripped the black tape a little, so people should be extremely careful removing it. Other than that, it is really that simple to change the battery. I already had the repair kit because I was going to attempt a repair on another phone. I bought a battery on Amazon and I saved $100 from what the store was going to charge me to change the battery.

It’s a huge pain in the ass. I can’t stand the design of pixels. It’s way to easy to damage the oled during removal

Mine has that too now ;-;;; i often opened pixel 6 to take out the battery vut I'm not sure i can keep it in tact and replace it. WE USED THE SAME EXACT HEAT PLATE and IFixIt stuff

Awesome guide! a quick question, my battery expanded as in the video, and I ordered a new one, but it will arrive in 2 months, do I leave the expanded battery in the phone till the new one arrives and do the swap? or open the phone and remove the battery and store it without the battery till the replacement arrives?

Where in the world do you live that it takes 2 months. Just curious I would remove it to avoid the battery damaging the screen

I really don't know if I need a battery, All that I know is that my oled screen broke, and I let the phone battery dry. Then it stopped charging and the pixel stopped working.

How do you know it’s not charging? The reason I ask is it’s not uncommon to mistake no image as no power/no charge

Did my replacement and everything seemed to go off without any mistakes but i plugged it in and tried to turn it on and it just gives me the battery icon with a lightning bolt for a few seconds. Any ideas?

not sure, but most smartphones need the battery installed opposed to being permanently connected to a charger

Was hoping able to do that. My old phone has battery swelling, don't feel like replacing it. Remember my old laptop has battery swell problem also, was able to run that without battery. Remember very old phone use to be able to do the same thing run without battery. Now modern devices is just one battery swell after another.

Disconnect and reconnect the screen flex Or hard reboot the device If those don’t work it’s possible you damaged the screen or the flex

Google got it easy for pixel repairs compared to Apple.

Certain repairs yes. Screens are much easier. This repair was significantly easier because the battery swelling made it easier to remove the screen. Under normal circumstances, removing the screen without breaking it or either a battery or charging port or rear camera repair would terrify me considering how easy pixel oleds break if you look at them the wrong way during removal, and how much these screens cost at the moment
