I'm an Apple user these days but I picked up the Pixel 6 because it interested me. I've never had a Pixel before having used Sammy in my Android days. This is a really sweet phone! The quality of the build for the price is fantastic. It's smooth and quite good. The cameras are nice as well. I think people expect too much these days. For this price, these cameras are pretty nice and the OS works much better since the January update. I didn't experience any glitches before it, other than the fingerprint sensor not being that great and the occasional app freeze. Both have improved since the update. If I were to switch back to Android, this is the phone I'd use.

I've owned a lot of phones. My favorite used to be the Nexus 6P. That is, until I got my Pixel 6. The price is incredible for what you get, the phone while bigger than any other phone I've ever used I've gotten used to, i flatly hate curved screens so this flat screen is perfect, performance is fantastic, and the battery life does very well. Seriously have not been this happy with a phone in years.

I returned my P6 Pro after a week because of its curved screen. I just couldn't get used to it. The P6, on the other hand, is a delight to use. The January update seems to have improved the fingerprint scanner performance, which was disappointing at first. I still prefer the scanner on the back, like my 3XL. I own this for a week now. All bugs are gone with the update and it's silky smooth even I always switch off 90Hz. Android 12 itself is buttery smooth and you feel no difference switching to 60hz (to save battery). At first I doubted their true skin color detection to be real but it is. I checked it side by side with iphone 13 pro max and found Pixel 6 really has a much better reproduction of skin color and handling highlights in the photos. I also compared it with Oneplus 10 pro (trial 30 days offer) where the camera overexposed lights when using front camera portrait mode...Pixel is indeed lovely in every aspects...

I spent quite some time deciding between the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, the Realme GT 2 Pro and a Samsung. I chose the Pixel 6 since the curved glass on the Pro is a no-go for me. The Samsung was too expensive, since the only one with a camera that can compete with the Pixel is the S22 Ultra, and that is twice the price of the 6. The Realme was really tempting because it has a nice design and top-level specs, but the camera and uncertain Software Support made me hesitate to buy one. Also...I have grown to love the extra Software Features the Pixel offers, like the background music identification...

I'm facing the same dilemma. I currently own a OnePlus 6T McLaren. It's been great, but is now over 3 years old and I'm looking for a replacement. I won't buy Samsung because of prior experience, so it's probably going to be Pixel. However, I'm probably going to wait for the U.S. release of the OnePlus 10 Pro and see what the real world reviews are of the software. Currently, my OnePlus has the cleanest Android, other than Google Pixel. No bloatware and, like you said, their charging speeds blow anything else out of the water. On my 3+ year old OnePlus I still get good battery life, 50% charge in about 10 minutes, and full 100% in 30. I'm mostly looking at a new phone for a better camera. It's the one area where OnePlus has traditionally come up short. However, they seem to be very competitive with the other top brands now.

I bought mine a couple of days ago to replace my 2 year old Pixel 3a. The 3a was fine but the RAM was too low and apps auto-closed which was annoying. The Pixel 6 solves this. Everything about the 6 is better apart from the fingerprint reader. I knew it was going to be bad and it is. It's slow and doesn't seem to recognise my thumb no matter what I do. I have increased the sensitivity in the display settings which helped somewhat. The rear mounted reader was a winner on previous models or even a power button reader as on a lot of Xiaomi's. Still, I got it at a knock down price and am very happy. Slippy as hell though - get a case!

I have had the Palm Pre, Blackberry 10, Samsung and all Pixel devices including the most recent Pixel 6. I literally switched to the iPhone 13 recently for two reasons. Connectivity and Bluetooth connection. I've always had some type of carrier disconnection with Pixel and put up with it but recent the 6 was too much. Bluetooth was the same here and there disconnect especially with AA. I took a chance into the Apple ecosystem and I have to be brutally honest that the connection situation is way better than Android for me. I love the Google ecosystem and have Google devices at home but man Car-play plays great in my car and connects great with my Sync system (Ford/Lincoln). Sync would drop connection with Android and recently the carrier connection issues with T-Mobile. I'm keeping my iPhone for this alone though I have a Pixel 4a as a back up just in case.

I switched from a cheap Chinese phone (nice in that I could carry two batteries) to a Pixel 3 (great camera and real Android) then last autumn to a Pixel 6. I jumped into that early because in the UK you got a free pair of Bose SC 700 headphones thrown in if you pre-ordered it. It was clearly an excellent phone from the start but it had issues which for some reason you could forgive. Google has fixed most of the software problems by now and partly fixed hardware ones in software. The fingerprint reader is still a bit problematic until you work out which part of your thumb to use. I also find the orientation detector takes time to settle down which makes using Star Walk slower. It's still a great phone which I really enjoy using.

@1221Ralph2 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyt425 it's been a bit of a frustrating experience overall. In addition to the bugs, I traded in my pixel 4a 5G with a perfect screen and was supposed to receive $165 in credit. They said the screen had damage (not true) and only refunded $100. If I were to buy again, I'd probably go with the pixel 5.

Really the only bugs that I've seen are general inconsistencies with the UI of the device. Occasionally things like the notification shade being transparent, or the keyboard appearing crunched. Just little things that you wouldn't think you would see with the device running stock Android.
@1221Ralph2 жыл бұрын
By the keyboard appearing crunched, do you mean when you click to type on a text box, and the text box hides under the keyboard so you can't see what you're typing?

This was a great accurate review. I have the pro cuz I'm old and blind. My only complaint is the selfie camera. I rarely do selfies but it should work for the situations I do need them to as I need it for work. The charging for me has improved with update but if you read further, it's the AI working for you. The back video was a bit grainy in certain lighting situations but also improved. I wish there was a HDR turn off for photos because SOMETIMES it's a bit much. Otherwise I love this phone. I just hate Google Photos organization lol.

Am I the only one that can hear the speaker issues? I received this phone the other day and when I talk to people on it I can hear a slight buzzing noise to their words, especially words that have the letter S in them. Often I will hear something that sounds like sleet hitting a window when there is no talking. Any ideas on this? I hate to have to send it back.

I was thinking which one to buy. The Pro was to expensive for me and it's not worth that almost 300€ price difference(here in Germany) to the regular 6 for the minor differences in terms of display and camera. Would it has been less of a price difference between these two, I propably would have gone for the Pro. I've chosen the Normal 6 and what I have also to mention is that I'm coming from a 8T and sometimes I'm still missing it, especially in terms of charging speed and it had the better display quality and 120Hz. What I can say for now is that I'm not really that satisfied with my Pixel 6, I'm facing some software issues since its launch and they can't fix it. Beside that it's a great device and it gives you that buttery smooth stock Android Pixel experience. Let's see if they can fix it with future updates. If they can't fix it, I will go back to OnePlus.
@kingmajo872 жыл бұрын
I switched my mind and bought a 6 Pro. I was waiting after the price was dropping for almost 100 Euros. I was sick of the Pixel 6, because I have only problems with it, especially the display was the worst one, I've ever experienced on a smartphone. After I made my experience with the Pro, I can really said that it is worth the price difference. Great display(could be a little bit more brighter), better haptics and so on.

@@1221Ralph that's strange that that would happen. I've only had good experiences with Google. Hopefully the screen didn't crack in route in the mail but you probably packed it really well. It only takes one bad Apple. It was possible it's just one individual that made that decision.
