Also, you are 100% correct portrait mode is no longer doing magic like it used to on either phone honestly. The front and back blur on iPhone Portrait mode is a nice addition, but overall the lenses are allowing enough light to get a natural bokeh from the lenses themselves without "ai portrait mode" which I think is a good direction, however, remove the feature if it isn't going to be updated.

The best comparison of Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro. I really appreciate all the details .. a perfect comparison and so calm .. not like many other KZbinrs out there who just make so many Video transitions und all other sorts of BS. And at the end of the video, one can really then choose his preferred phone. So glad I found this channel. If my English allows me to speak like a native, I'd have created a similar video. These cameras are getting so wild. The raw photos on the 14 Pro really impressed me. I like how each phone edges the other one out in certain aspects. iPhone does a better job of what 90% of my photos are (people, animals, some stuff and of course video) but I still look at my Pixel 2 shots sometimes with amazement they could do that with a single lens.

Same here. I took some of my best pictures and precious memories with a Pixel 2. It was in fact so good, that the 12 Pro Max i upgraded to felt like a huge disappointment. But now the 14 Pro is really making up for it, this thing's 48MP raw files are simply mind blowing.

I have to agree with you regarding your "before the Pixel 6" comment. I recently went from my awesome Pixel 2XL to a Pixel 6. I really think the images on the 2XL were better that those I get on my 6. I actually wish I hadn't traded in that 2XL. It was still working pretty well and I sooooooooo miss the finger print sensor on the back of the phone. It was perfect.

I've edited few RAWs on My Pixel. They are yeah, much much softer initially, all u gotta do is crank up the sharpness. But I usually use masking to do that in LR. In the End Image turns out pretty good. Just Pixel's RAW takes more time to edit as compared to iPhone's one. I don't mind taking some time. I have kinda more control over Pixel's RAW. It looks really ugly in the start. But u can clean up the stuff.

Really nice comparison as always. Min 7:28 the Pixel has a lot more noise even with the lower iso because the pixel raises the shadows internally after the photo has been taken. Its like pulling the shadow slider in LR all the way to the right almost... the pixel does this all the time.

I wish the manufacturers would give us a mode where we can either set a relative value to the HDR look/processing or let us train the processor from time to time. In other words, go through a "learn" process whereby the camera processes our first handful of images with different highlight tones, shadow tones and sharpening and then asks you to choose your preferred version of the photo. Then, based on your selected preferences, it processes each photo that way. Much like we teach our phones other things, like ID unlocks, and smart assistants. I have the Sony Xperia 5 iii and some photos are stunning with excellent contrast, color rendition, saturation and sharpening... Just beautiful! Makes me want to run out and buy a 24mm prime lens. While others look like a child's watercolor painting version of what I snapped a photo of. When there are bright lights or lots of highlights in the scene, it obliterates the highlights and turns them into little gray blobs, while simultaneously bringing the shadows up way too far. And unfortunately the HDR compositing works the best in the "basic" modes... So, I have little control over how it behaves when I just want to grab a shot.

Very nice comparison. Some of the issues you identified with the pixel photos like the noise at night or the sky highlights can be corrected easily before you take the photo using the highlight and slider sliders. After you train the camera on the pixel a few times, the phone is going to remember your preferences for future photos.

Need 1 suggestion. Am using android for over a decade now. I hv my cousins who r on US trip and hence I'm thinking to get the 14pro from there to India. While i will get quite cheaper compared to INR, but I'm stuck between Pixel 7pro and 14pro. Photography is my priority, usually i use Adobe lightroom and free .xmp presets, just wonder if i take 14pro, will i be able to use those .xmp presets for editing or not? Am getting Pixel at $849 for 256gb variant and iPhone 14pro at $1099 for 256gb variant. Heres my 2nd que, in terms of durability, after sale service and resale value, is it really worth spending the extra $250 ? Need an honest opinion.

Exactly. Use what works for you. Even if the iPhone camera isn’t as good as the pixel in a few scenarios I still prefer it for now because of the ecosystem. Google is building out their own ecosystem and that’s just good for competition! We have lots of choices right now. Good time to be on any team

Ah if only the Pixel did the full 50mp RAW. Also the pixel portrait mode needs tweaking Actually just having manual settings on the JPEG only shots would be great. One can dream. Google are..just so inconsistent. They make great progress then make weird decisions As a P6Pro user. I simply tell people to get iPhone because I get sick of the camera questions about which is best for photo, best for video, best overall because when they do get the Pixel or S22 galaxy then I'm updating their phones a lot and teaching more than I want and then "why are my friends videos turning out better on social media?"

I like the comparison video. One comment though, it makes sense the iPhone raws look better when importing into lightroom compared to the Pixel raws, because iPhone does a lot more processing to the raw files. I prefer the Pixel raws, because the reason why I would want to shoot raw is to have more control and the less processing is done by the phone, the better.

I'd say if you're somebody who is on a budget but still wants iphone level photos (basically) then you should go for the pixel 7 or 7 pro. For 600-800 dollars, a phone like that is amazing. I just got my pixel 7 a few days ago and absolutely love it. Plus it has way better night sight photos and a lot more editing options as well. It also has the best AI out of all smartphones. If you have the money to afford an iPhone tho, go for it because that's also an absolutely amazing phone as well. Plus recording video or photo thru social media like snap or insta is a lot better on iPhone. But I just take videos and pics on the pixels normal camera and then upload them to social media afterwards, it keeps the high quality.

@@JustinDufrene I shoot with a Z6II and while a mirrorless is more versatile in the specific applications of the lenses I can put on it, my phone is 1. Always with me 2. Achieves about 80% of what I could ever want to photograph and with sufficient quality and satisfactory control over exposure The fact that people think you NEED a DSLR/mirrorless for great photos means they really haven't tried to do anything great on their phones or have some other things to work on with their photography. As it stands, my mirrorless is basically just for super low light, astrophotography and landscapes where I want to use a long telephoto

I have the pixel 7 pro and I just can't stand the noise/grainyness of the stills... I came from a Pixel 3 which took amazing photos and didnt have this issue so I dont understand how the P7P is trashing the stills! Its aggravating and I'm super dissapointed :(. I hope google updates their algorhythms to elliminate this issue becuase it IS an issue and all the priase the techtuber influencers shower on the P7P is way out of touch with reality, so I appreciate this video pointing it out!

I changed from 12 Pro Max to 6 Pro last year, I was so disappointed with the Pixel as a functioning phone, the camera was good but hit n miss too, and the bugs on the Pixel put me off the 7 Pro. This year I’ve gone back to Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. Omg, night and day difference, as a phone it works flawlessly, the camera is more consistent, the raw 48mp camera is absolutely outstanding, the detail is incredible, I am so glad I’ve gone back to iPhone, there’s nothing I don’t like, there’s nothing that disappoints me! I remember going to Optus shop to look for new phone they told me to steer clear of Google 6 and they were so right. I heard so many times about bug problems. So I went for S22 Ultra instead of Google 6 Pro. It's disappointing that Google allow the bug problem to be so frequent and that's not acceptable. Hope Google learn the lesson that their sale of Google 6 was very poor compare to iPhone did a lot better.

I just got my pixel 7 a few weeks ago and I personally haven't experienced anything bad with the phone or the cameras. It could be that Google finally updated it tho. I prefer the pixel 7 because I love taking night shots and it's the best phone for that. And although some photos are hit and miss when it comes to more detail, I like the editing options that come with it imo. But the rest of my family has iphones and they're so good as well. I do agree iphones photos are a lot more consistent. Really just depends on what factors matter more to someone.

RAW on the iPhone isn't true RAW in the sense of pure sensor output. Whereas on the Pixel you are getting true RAW, hence the highlights being brighter on import. Apple's RAW is ProRAW and basically still uses processing to stack the images etc. It's good, but sometimes I just want a pure RAW image, and on iPhone the only way to do that is with third party apps, but then you can't use a shutter longer than 1s (or is it 2s? I can't remember)

One thing that no one in videos talk about is the actual OS graphics. On iOS, they look pretty and refined. Android looks alittle plain and dated. If you look at iPhones mail app, Notes, Safari, settings app, etc..they just look refined. Google needs to put a little more time into prettying up their OS. But the features of a Pixel are unmatched.

Yeah basically. Both phones have the same Google tensor 2 chip and the same cameras besides the telephoto. Which means they take the same quality photos. I got the pixel 7 a few days ago and I love it. I knew I wouldn't need the telephoto lens plus it's cheaper. It has all the same camera features as the 7 pro, even astrophotography.

Looks pretty processed. It’s just a hard comparison because the telephoto lenses are such different focal lengths. In my head it made more sense to compare iPhone at x5 digital to pixel 5x optical.

Thanks for the comparison! I think pixel needs to go back to using snapdragon, this tensor chip is exynos-based and from all the camera/video comparisons Ive seen between a Samsung with exynos and another one with SD, SD wins hands down in image and video processing

wow very good comparison, there are many channels that argue that the new king is the pixel but the harsh reality is that iPhone is still leading the position. Without a doubt, the iPhone takes good quality in most photos, at night there is very little noise and the images look better balanced than the pixel. Greetings 🙋🏻‍♂️

Great video. I would choose the Pixel if it didn't raise shadows so much (this has been happening since Pixel 5 unfortunately, all previous Pixels had beautiful contrast like the iPhone has now) and didn't have the noise even at the lowest iso. They should focus on tweaking the google camera. iPhone lasts easily 5 years, the Pixel doesn't. Clear winner.

I traded my Pixel 6 Pro and got the Iphone 14 Max Pro. The deciding factor was the over processing in pictures AND video. I liked a lot about that phone and still hate the iOS system but I use my phone to make paying content.

Hey Lee, your judgment about the comparisons in this video has me worried a lot. Because it looks like you're watching a different video than the one you're presenting. A lot of photos that the Pixel 7 pro was much sharper and better than the iPhone, you flipped. I know that in these comparisons that you KZbins make of phones, many tend to speak better of one than the other, being biased, for economic interests, which I believe is not the case for you. Congratulations on the work, but never fail to be impartial in comparisons

I'm not a fan of Apple and its iPhone but I must admit that its cameras are great, they achieve a good color balance much better than in its previous version the iPhone 13 Pro.While the Pixel 7 Pro, like the iPhone, achieves magnificent processing. I'm not a professional photographer but I must say that both phones are currently the best of the best in cameras and then each one will choose which team to support. I would be somewhere in between, because both seemed great to me with the photos shown in the video. IMHO!

I prefer the Pixel 7 Pro, even my 6 Pro, as it captures more information and leaves a little room for editing, which I enjoy 😊 However, if you view both on a revealing pro monitor, (mine is like that) the iPhone is superior. Don't go by phone displays, they make anything look good. Watch this video on a pro monitor, not Apple's! A truly 'revealing' one... and you'll see what I mean.

I think that’s some issue with the fan boys getting mad at me. If you’re watching this in 1080p on a phone display you can’t really see what I’m talking about. You need to watch it in 4K on a good bigger display to see the little things I’m pointing out instead of just insulting me and saying I’m wrong. End of the dayBoth phones are great and you can’t go wrong with either.

You can edit this images all day long to look better than straight out of camera. No one is forgetting! Trust me if I could have edited them for the video I would have. But then I get people mad at me I didn’t show it straight out of camera lol

What's missing in these comparisons is the ability of the pixel to unblur a face in real time. Set aside the unblu feature in the photos app that works on old photos which is amazing but it's really not part of the camera system. Try to take a picture of someone moving their head fairly rapidly with the iPhone and the pixel and see whether the pixel truly removes the blur and what the iPhone picture looks like. This is an example of real life usage, especially with children and it is a big difference maker for the pixel. But these photography comparisons almost never talk about it. It's the difference between ideal framing and posing versus real life snapshots

I tried it on a few photos and it’s cool but a lot of the times it just looked super fake. I think it would be good if it was an image you couldn’t ever take again and needed to save it

@@LeeZavitz The more extreme the blur the less amazing the result, NO doubt. However, when the blur is just enough to soften the image and you want it sharper, it’s incredibly good. I’ve had iPhone users sending me their ‘missses’ of their kids and I unblur them and send them back. Not surprisingly, they get Pixel envy and the only thing holding them back is they are afraid they will be kicked out of the iMessage group chats!

And again, the use case here is kids in action, maybe when you are taking shots of a performance on stage like a school play in iffy lighting, etc. I see bad DSLR and iPhone shots all the time. The Pixel shots come out consistently better and sharper with the real time blur fix.

i think pixel is slighty better in normal and wideangle, zoom shots and iphone is amazing in portraits, raw images and videos.

Both are great. It all comes down to personal preferences. Some cases P7P absolutely shames 14P. While in other cases iPhone shows it's capability. I feel like the cinematic mode is better on iPhone while the general 4k videos are more stable and gorgeous in P7P. Also you can shoot 4k through the 5X periscope lens with OIS. That's a huge slap on the face for Apple.
