This was really revealing, thank you for mentioning updates! I noticed between Samsung S22 (not ultra) and the Pixel 7 (not pro) and Iphone 14 (not pro/max) that I had a much harder time deciding, but once being a bit more realistic with my use case and budget, decided the 7 pro is worth it, and when it comes to a "starting point" it definitely seems to get the closest to "ready to edit", natural just shot look, but not bad if shared as is. Very respectable quality in most cases, and bordering perfect tones/colors in a smaller portion. That smaller portion basically never exists for me with the other two. Samsungs hyper saturation, warm contrasty thing is amazing shooting people with really fair skin, and I love the look of it shooting outdoors, but I think Iphone and Samsung reveal their weaknesses (less strengths? 2nd strengths? still not bad phones by any stretch, just remember what your first android photos looked like...) when there is a complex scene, or detail needed in a human subject. Pixel still does a few odd things at times, but 7/10 times I think it does well enough I wouldn't be hunting for settings for a retake. That's amazing, because it almost nullifies carrying any other cameras except for an action cam or something video specific-- To be fair on that front- I think Iphone still shoots the best videos if you don't need large format, just shooting a youtube clip etc. Hard to complain, they have it dialed it.

One of the photographers even chooses the photo from the samsung and them votes on the iPhone (kid in the snow) and says sorry samsung... Also on the first telephoto example the samsung is a clear winner, all of these iPhone users are completely biased... Pixel is actually quite good but overall the samsung is on par just like the iphone, to be honest, all of these are great phones it depends on the situation and choosing between them is going to be about overall user preferences regarding the UI... Pixel 1st , Samsung close 2nd and iPhone last by far....

I have just watched until 11:41 but it seems the iPhone is mostly a bit warmer, sharper and has good contrasts in the mid tones, the Pixel is neutral with contrasts trough the dark shadow parts and the Samsung is often a bit blurry with brighter colors that seem a bit off. I am not sure about how doing photos with an iPhone pro 14 feels like, but the photos of my regular iPhone 13 give me the feeling there is much processing and filters in them. The photos look good, but they don‘t look real somehow

I have a pixel 7 pro and installed the gcam 8.7 APK - highly highly recommended. You have even more control over many aspects of the camera, especially HDR+ and white balance. Google AI does adapt over time, btw . Mine was producing photos that's were way too blue/cold at first. So I had the temp and exposure sliders active, and adjusted the temp to warmer most times. But now it's learned my preference and I don't really need the sliders anymore

I guess my only disappointment with this is that it ignores the telephoto shots. It seemed that in order to try and keep some fairness, the focus was only on shots all of them could achieve. How about a 30x zoom shot to see how they compare. As a parent, I am constantly in the audience of my child's performances where telephoto is key. While there were a couple of telephoto shots, it was generally ignored.

It is disappointing when it comes to the iPhone 14 Pro 😬. Bigger sensor/megapixel count jump was probably too big of a jump for their processing.

@@omxga.xt30ii :-) no Problem. totally Agree, i start noticing that beginning of the iPhone 12 Series, there was a huge (bad) change, and now it's going very public thankfully. @@mixdown78 Thats exactly what im trying to do as well. Ive been practicing LR Mobile and I think with enough practice it will look great. I still look back to my iPhone 7 pics and they look incredible. Somehow there's almost the same amount of grain yet the HDR is much better than now, colors were more correct, less over saturated etc. A lot of phones messed up their processing. I wouldn't call the iPhone's processing "very over processed" but I don't like how saturated, vibrant, over sharpened it can be sometimes. Also, whenever i try to get a quick shot, almost all the time if I dont check the exposure, the sky ends up being very overexposed.

Ok to keep it totally honest we have hit a tech wall as far as picture and video quality for current flagship phones. As far as tech KZbinrs and professional photographers, that have to intricately analyze different phone pictures and videos to pick out a “winner”. But the average person taking regular pictures and videos probably can’t tell a real difference in the quality, basically they all are great and have been for the past 4years I would say. Until we get full VR on phones, things are going to be the same for the foreseeable future.

@@FangOG Many people who buy an iPhone do it for the camera and to have the best possible quality in both video and photography. If you are a person who likes to upload photos to social networks, which I think most people make it obvious, you are a person who will edit their photos as you like the most to upload them later to social networks, it should be noted that only when you use pro raw is when you use the new 48 mp and that is where you get more detail and information in the photo and it is the video that I would like to see that tests the pro raw format and so people who may not know how to use it will know how to use it

I have seen so many comparison videos and all differ. Some have the s22 ultra wiping the floor with the competition. Others, like this video have the s22 ultra struggling. It's purely down to each individual and how our eyes view the shots/pictures taken. I have the s22 ultra and I can positively say it is a very good camera and video camera. I've taken various shots using all of the lenses and for the most part I'm impressed. With time, the various updates will improve the cameras on all the top end phones, one would assume.
