One of the first thinks I noticed is the P7 feels better balanced. The P6 always felt top heavy to me. Maybe it's the camera bar being a little lower or just the slightly smaller height, but either way it just it feels much easier when holding/typing. I agree for such an incremental looking upgrade, there's a lot going on for the better on the P7.

My P7 Pro gets delivered tomorrow. I haven't been this excited about getting a new phone in a long time. I have a question for anyone that may know. Would a holster for a Pixel 6 Pro fit the 7 Pro? It wouldn't have anything to do with the buttons and where they are located on the phone. I'm specifically looking at the Encased Belt Case for the Clear Phone Case with Holster Clip (2021). It's a rigid case that the phone goes into the frame at the bottom then gets locked in place by the spring clip at the top. It has a belt/pocket spring clip on the back that rotates. I'm just not seeing the specific Pixel 7 Pro holster anywhere, even Encased's own web site.

So, here's my update...from 9:00am till around 2:00pm I watched a few videos, did some texting, did some online shopping, and checked my mail. At this time my battery was around 65%. Went out around 2:30pm to a corn maze and used the camera pretty heavily as well as some texting. By the time I got home around 7:30pm my battery was at 1%. I honestly didn't think the camera was going to kill my battery as fast as it did. Is this normal? I don't feel I really had to worry about my battery this much using my Pixel 5 🤷♂️ I will also add that it gets pretty damn warm when it's charging.
@skullfazed77762 жыл бұрын
@@steve-o-reno thats pretty poor battery life for a flagship phone, especially if you were mostly taking pictures instead of videos. @@teknerd I'm just saying, I know a lot of photographers are angry at the idea that a cell phone is getting to be almost as powerful if not more than some DSLRs. My cousin who is a professional photographer has voiced that before. So in my personal opinion and from that information I feel like phone cameras are in a decent spot lol
@teknerd2 жыл бұрын
@@GretSeat I don't agree with the cell phone camera being better or as good as a DSLR. Photography is far more than equipment, it is control of lighting. Also, in computational photography, a computer makes decisions based on someone elses opinion (Google) what a perfect photo should look like. If you put a room full of photographers and asked them to photograph a bowl of fruit, each photographer will take a different spin on it using light, its direction, its quality (hard or soft, specular vs diffused), camera angles (POV). Not to mention a plastic lens on a cell phone camera cannot match a handcrafted razor sharp full frame lens. Cell phone cameras are great for those candid photos when you don't have a traditional camera with you. In fact, Cell Phone cameras are very behind point and shoot cameras of 20 years ago. It's just the computational algorithim that fixes problems the photographer didn't or couldn't fix at image capture That depends on the skill of the photographer. I don't see super models having their magazine photos with a cell phone camera any time soon. Anyway, talking about the merits of computational photography and traditional photography is a very very deep rabbit hole.

The Pixel 7 may indeed be a good recommendation, but at $450-$500. It's all well and good to talk about NPUs and such, but just as I would never put $900 into an iPhone 14 Plus, just like I would never put $900 into a Pixel 7 Pro which has a processor equivalent to a Snapdragon 865. People talk about the Pixel 7's NPU capabilities as if they were the best, no, it's just that Google has a database that no one else has, a database acquired very often illegally and intrusively. Ps: for me no smartphone in the world is worth more than $700. 🙏🏽

Fingerprint scanner is absolute garbage (never had a problem with the one on Pixel 5). Otherwise no complaints after about six weeks. Battery life has been fine.

Fingerprint biometrics is still not perfect on Pixel 7. Took 3 attempts for the phone to register it and still when I try to use it to unlock the phone, it says fingerprint not recognised. My basic VIVO worth $100 has better fingerprint technology than this $599 phone! Totally disappointed.

I ordered the Pixel 7, on sale through the Google store for 499 dollars. They gave me a trade in on my Google Pixel 6 for 479 dollars. With tax I purchased the Google Pixel 7 for 21.43 cents... Where can you find a better deal than that!!! They can keep their 1200 dollar IPhone 14... I'm sticking with GOOGLE!!!

I know the smartphone market is ultra-competitve these days, but are reviewers now too hyper-nitpicky? The 7/Pro are not priced at premium levels, yet reviews treat them like that. It goes without saying, at the most basic level, you're either Android or iOS, and most stick with that because it's what they know. If you're into Apple, you'll pay a premium, if you're into Android you'll have acres of choice at all price points. I'd say for 99.9% of use cases for 99% of buyers, the latest Pixel's will be absolutely perfect, which is probably what Google was aiming for.

Shit I don't have time to unlock the phone with fingerprint scanner because it takes 0.3 seconds vs 0.2. Damn when ur life is so short u don't have a second to wait for a phone to unlock lol. Damn. 120hrz is still a battery drainer. When u turn off the pro 7 and 6 pro become battery beast. 90 seems good enough for smoothness and battery life. I mean if a pixel 6a last longer then a pixel 6 pro. That tells u how bad 120hrz is for battery life.
