Hey Tim, I really appreciated the amount of work and insight you gave us when it comes to the improvements of the Pixel 8 over the 6 series. I liked how you put it through normal everyday life paces for sure! Kudo's to you and your wife for raising a good son who really appreciated the early Christmas gift! The 7 years of OS updates was definitely a great shock!

Thanks Adam! He really is a great kid and the Pixel 6 Pro is still a great phone. I never had any major issues with it, and they've worked out most of the early bugs people complained about.

Thanks Noi! Yep, he was definitely happy. I think everyone has their preference on a mobile ecosystem which is slowly evolving into your personal computing ecosystem. iPhone is still the winner in video followed by Samsung. By the way, I've been so busy I haven't made it fully through your last video yet, but it looks like you guys had a blast and you captured some great memories there! I should have some time to watch it fully this weekend.

@@TimBrownTown I heard the pixel is quite good though. My sister-in-law swears by it, but I think you're right. We go wherever we have most of our services. I invested so much in music in the early days that I'm not tied to the Apple ecosystem :( Japan was amazing man. Going through all of the footage is great but it's so overwhelming that I want to take a break from KZbin haha.

@@noisackda2564 Yep. I love my Pixel but I see myself getting hooked into their ecosystem which is why I avoided Apple for so many years. I totally understand about taking a break. I got burned out after I did the Great Wolf Lodge trip and made the review video for my channel and the story video for my son's. His did so much better than mine. Lol.

I also made an update from 6 Pro to 8 Pro and I feel the difference in battery, charging speed, photos and videos & screen brightness. I also miss a waterfall display. Screen frames are huge. Like new AI features. Thank you for your review 😃

Yes! I was eyeing my son's Pixel 6 Pro's curved edges this weekend, missing them!

I'm loving the pixel 8 pro over my pixel 6 pro. It was a buggy mess. Cell service was horrible on my pixel 6 pro also. I loved the photos from my pixel 6 . That was the best part of that phone.

Fortunately, I didn't have that experience. I'm not sure why, but the Pixel 8 pro is definitely a refinement over the 6!

pixel 6 - dim screen low speakers terrible battery

Definitely a dimmer screen, but that didn't affect me so much. Battery was improved by turning off always on and 5G. Low speakers? Not so sure about that one.
